In my campaign, they are the Generals of the Old One's armies. Their power is tied to the Old One's, like a witch's pact. They are incredibly powerfull but greatly weakend while their masters slumber. The God's of Light bound them to the Citidel, twisting their power against those they used to lead....

An unlit torch on the dugeon wall, I put a magnesium core in it above a small clay tube of lamp oil.

Since some races have a natural gift for some skills, if there is an overlap in skills like that, I take the highest skill percentage and then bump the skill up 10%, just like the rules for having a "professional" level of a skill. Works well and no one complains too loudly

Weapons do dull, but in my game I have players write out what a nightly or morning routine is for them. Sure but if water under the influence of gravity is rain and it does damage, everytime the water moves across the vampire we are talking damage. Or does it lose it's potency sitting in the tub?

Gnome should be fine as long as the dragon forgets to chew...The idea is pretty funny though. Anyone else have a strange oxymoron class? I had a Jotan thief in one game. Was fine in the Nimro setting, but funny outside of "the hills"

In my group, death results in the loss of two levels XP, so if a 5th level ranger dies, the XP of a 3rd level ranger can be applied to the new OCC/RCC. It keeps the new character in line with the group, but nobody willingly throws away that much XP

Yeah I totally agree. I don't mind when a rifter article makes it into a book. At that point it's kudos for making the grade. But there really is no reason to reprint much. I guess thats the gap in a "megaversal system" Its not just a core book, and each book adds to it in one direction or...

I second Lionheart, if you can get a copy of any of the Grimtooth trap books cheap on amazon, they are worth their weight in gold. I have used them to maim players for over a decade, and I still have dozens left I have never tried. Some of the most evil creations in all off roleplayingdom.

Just to make it intresting, I make sure my players know that I play miracles like hackmaster does coupons.
You can call for a miracle, you might get answered, but then know that the god figures you owe him one for it's special attention and will almost certainly ask for something in return....

In my games I have found that I get the best luck by crafting the villians first. Once you have an epic villian you focus on how to introduce the villian to the players. At that point instead of planning on what the players are going to do, change the perspective. Plan on how the villian would react...

I don't think I would want them making a ton of rune weapons, but just imagine if they kept thiers from during the war, or they kept a few forges around, and the high ranking dwarves in the army now carry them. The most notable thing I see would be there weapons, especially the bladed ones designed to peirce. Obsidian is extremely sharp (modern medicine actually uses obsidian for high quality scalpels). I allow martial arts as long as its a class that it dovetails into well, and the character background shows that it fits in. I find it's a great way to add flavor to characters, especially men at arms. I do tend to power down some of the martial arts bonuses, but I think N&SS provides some great...

In my game, it not only has to be a sentiant creatures blood, for full nourishment (animals count as half and taste terrible) but must still have living essence (trace amounts of PPE) in it. That rules out things like blood banks, where the plasma and the hemoglobin have been seperated.
