Re: Essential books? (besides the CRB that is...)
*sigh* Nevermind. I now see the stickied thread highlighting the differences between the two editions...directly above this one in fact (for the moment anyway).

Re: Essential books? (besides the CRB that is...)
On a semi-related note: I've mostly played Heroes Unlimited but I've just acquired 2 copies of the PFRPG core rules (different covers) and Books II through V. It appears, however, that they're all Revised edition. I would really rather not buy 2nd edition copies and I'm not really sure what the diff...

Ancient Master using martial arts from N&S and Mystic China
For my personal playstyle and group, I feel the AM works better using actual martial arts forms; in this case, the ones from Ninjas & Superspies and Mystic china as I have both of those books. The problem is that I'm not sure how to actually implement it. N&S (which is from '93) says to give...

1st edition sourcebook questions?
I've played a lot of Palladium games over the years but Fantasy was never one of them. I was just able to acquire a 1 st ed. (10 th printing) copy for a good price. Now, I prefer to play all my fanatsy games in my homebrew and so I was wondering: which 1st ed. sourcebooks contain additional crunch (...

Mutant animals?
I was whipping up come generic characters the other day to use as filler as needed (I've always found having a few extra hereos/villains around is handy just in case you need them) and one of the ones I was making was a Mutant Animal. The problem is that the selection of animals in HU...isn't very i...

Re: Can someone help US make the 5 Deadly Venoms forms
Bit of a necro here but the Martial Arts Network site only includes 2 of the 5 Deadly Venom stules: Lizard and Centipede. Snake, Scorpion and Toad are not listed; at least, not under those names. The snake style from Five Deadly Venoms bears little resemblence, IMO, to the version in N&SS.

Re: Is Chaos Earthe a dead game?
I hope it's successful. Rifts has just gotten too big. For a group looking for a new game there's just too much material to even go through a fraction of it; not even counting 55+ issues of The Rifter. Chaos will be much easier to get into. I disagree about a game being dead. A game that has no offi...

Re: Energy Expulsion: Shadow Bolt from PU3
Speaking of PU3, my copy was the GenCon pre-release from a few years back which were a bunch of loose leaf pages (I've since had it bound). I was wondering if there were any changes from that to the final print copy. I don't have a print copy to compare it to and I never really thought about it unti...

Using Ninjas & Superspies/Mystic China with HU
I want to include the specific martial arts from N&S/MC to my Heroes Unlimited game. However, my HU book is from 2004 and my Ninjas & Superspies is from 1993. That's an 11 year difference and while N&S does give rules on what heroes of various archetypes have to sacrifice to get a specif...

As for Hardware, I prefer to just roll for powers normally and call them tech. You want super invention then. it's specifically for a character that can invent devices with super powers. You're absolutely right. And that's generally what I do, even for characters that are fully robotic. If I want s...

I like the idea of a Special Training Unlimited, for lack of a better term. For all the skill monkeys out there. Brian I agree. These types of characters often don't have very many options so they all tend to look the same. The Stage Magician is a cool concept but if you've seen one you've seen the...

signed photocopied PU3
At GenCon this year, I purchased one of the signed, photocopied versions of PU3. The problem I'm having is that it's all loose leaf paper and I don't know how to store it to keep it in good condition. The left margin is too small to punch for 3-ring (and I don't really like 3-ring binders anyway; th...

Personally, I like that they've created powers that are only minor distinctions from each other. In fact, I ignored HU2 completely until I heard that there were at least two other power books. Special Training characters with powers
I was thinking (I know, I know, always a bad idea) about the various ST characters. Take the Hunter/Vigilante for instance. Apart from secondary skill selection and budget, they're all going to be pretty much the same. To add some variety, I was considering allowing such characters to take one minor...

I'm sorry, that isn't what I meant. A normal human does 1d4 with a punch. If he has HtH Basic (at 3rd level) he can 2d4 or 1d6 with a kick. A basic punch by a normal does 1d4 plust PS bonus plus whatever combat moves they've learned that might do more. But how do you modify the damage for those "other" maneuvers. For example: I have HtH Basic. At level 3 I gain Kick attacks. Karate style doing 2d4 or snap for 1d6. But let's sa...

Question about Immortals
In PU2, it says to use the Mega-Hero advancement table for Immortals. But not all Immortals are classed as mega-heroes. It seems vastly unfair to make a non-mega Immortal use the Mega advabcement table. Now, Some of those non-megas get some pretty hefty bonuses but then so do some Aliens. What do yo...
