The Synchro Cannons are being powered by the reflex furnaces. Without any hard data there is no way to know just how much power you need. A barbwire and razor wire enclosure backed by chain link in 2-3 ringed enclosures surrounding goats. Have a tunnel with a hidden entrance to enter the enclosure and feed or water said goats. Possibly a tower inside the enclosure and a sentry with a suppressed rifle. Burn zombies daily.

So the Zentraedi are the Cuirassiers, Hussars, Cossacks, the Light Brigade of the modern mecha tactics.

Acting as Cavalry they recon ahead of forces, flank the main force, and exploit gaps created by heavier units to attack into the enemies rear areas disrupting C3 and logistics.

Additionally when I think an attacker has destroyed one of these, the asteroid has been shattered into small pieces. An impressive meteor show.

If the asteroid defenders aren't up to task, aren't you more or less giving your opponent really large bombs to drop on your planet? LaGrange points are stable and pretty far out. The up-sized Macross and Masters books need more crammed into them in addition to the errata to be worth it. They really need to do the rest of the ASC cruisers and artwork as well as fixing the mountain of errors/typos and other gaffes. As a community we should prepare one document with the errors...

So thirty years later....... You don't see a VF-1A_E1/2/3/4/5/6 (Block) with uprated engines that now can push velocities greater than Mach 6 and achieve orbit? Not in Robotech , anyway... or, at least, not in the current, official Robotech animated continuity. The old comics made for the Sentinels...
