Re: Shield vs missiles
missile attacks get almost no bonuses, so a strait roll, even with a -3 penalty is not as big a deal as you would think. Though, even with a block sacrifice the arms would take full damage and the main body half. with a shield, unless it is huge (like a wall or tower shield) your bot would still tak...

Re: Your first Rifts character
An Operator who got a hold of a GB (the rest of the group were playing GB Pilots and Borgs). We led raids on the Colations states for a few gaming sessions until we were able to purchase a bunch of missiles... shot them all at Chi-Town (400+ Long range, with a greater number of Medium Range). Before...

Re: Too many OCC's?
On the flip side it's kind of important that the GM lets the player know what kind of game he is going to run ahead of time, otherwise he has no one but himself to blame when he gets about a dozen or more outlandish requests. it is also vital that the DM knows his player's characters almost as well...

Re: Closing Devil's Gate
I sometimes think of them (permanent rifts, but especially the two mentioned above) more as escape valves or arteries... If valves, they will remain forced open as long as there is "too much" P.P.E. on Rifts earth. They are "impossible" to close because they have the full force o...

Re: Closing Devil's Gate
Or you could pull a Stargate and put some sort of shield in front and back of it... then anything that came through would go splat... with magic you might even be able to make it selective about who and what goes splat.

Re: The powers of the Pratchett Sword
there is also many things in stories that have humble or common beginnings and become magical due to random chance, history, or belief. There are plenty of people who believe that Sir Pratchett's stories are magical. Who is to say that in a magical world and a magical time his sword would not come t...

I would have it grant the ability to run AWAY very fast, grant a bonus to IQ (or raise it to 18) and give the skill or a bonus to the skill literacy, language, writing, reaserch, and some lore skills.

Re: Fencing and MD attacks
If you think about it though it's still weird, since 1M.D is 100 S.D.C, they should really being taking 1D6x10 S.D.C. I know why they put a rule like that in place, to keep people from jumping off buildings onto their face and laughing it off, or Power Armors from falling from the sky relatively un...

Re: Fencing and MD attacks
Splicers clarifies it in unambiguous language. I don't doubt that, but you were quoting RUE. In fact, the skill directly above it is Climbing, where if you fail your skill and fall you take 1D6 "damage" per 10ft. Are we to assume then that human skin and bone takes the same damage falling...

Re: Palladium Books is looking to expand into other media
I thinkmthe coolest and most useful thing they could do right now would be to make a library app. A free app (or maybe .99 cents, or even 19.99 if it came with R:UE) that would allow you to make and customize characters. With in app purchases you could unlock books from Palladium's awesome library. ...
