Unfortunately the lack of the Arcanum and monster books caused my long-running campaign to fall apart in 2008. We had switched over to second edition in 2005 and played for a bit but the lack of magic and monster rules was felt and we moved on.

Awesome write-up as always. Looking forward to the next one. I love missing town stories or "siege-structure" stories like The Mist where an entire town goes missing or comes under attack. It was a recurring theme in my campaign back in the day.

I like it a lot. It's well laid out and not filled with grammatical errors and typos. Using 1st edition makes sense as does setting it in 1988. I like how the group focused on the priest right away as a suspect. Hopefully they'll drop that bone at some point. Hope you keep updating your log.

I haven't done a fade town but I've used small towns as settings for various supernatural events, including a dimensional outbreak, anad a take over by shadow-people dopplegangers (using both Nightbane Dopplegangers and stuff I yanked from GURPs).

1 - Steer them towards a rival.
2 - Poison pill - let them 'rescue' a prisoner who is unknowingly a programmed servitor of your own.

That is an old character - she has a Palm Pilot listed on her character sheet. Of course, since it's a device belonging to her father that's been purposed as a psi-mechanic tool it doesn't have to be current, I just thought it was neat.
