Nope, in large battles when a flagship - say a Doombringer -
gets hit by several Rift-cannons, odds are, that the ship will be
teleported/rifted out, effectively halving the firepower of
the enemy fleet.

Then her escort cruisers and frigates can be taken out, or
forced to flee/disperse, then if the Doombringer EVER
returns, she can be dealt with (without the escort, it is
vulnerable to fighter and missile swarm attacks).

Of course it has to be added, that
- Add effective ranges to the main guns
- Add impervious to energy to Iron Ship (and all UWW ships)

Check the chart again. With about 40% per hit, the target

a, loses FTL and gravity systems - a sitting duck
b, loses power
c, looses shields
d, teleported away (in the best case for the target, it just loses
some of its fighter wing)

Damage done on the target is just a bonus.

Btw, which is the R-cannon on the Iron ship pic? Description says "60 ft long, usually mounted on front of the ship". Nothing like that. Maybe the turret on top? I'm not even sure it is in a turret.

the large rectangular nozzle in the bow.

same mount as the Wave Motion Gun...... :)

now, mix rift projection cannon with Beat Improbable Odds spell to increase the likelyhood of just taking them out...

I don't see why you couldn't tack it on, it is, after all, a TW device already... 8-)

Yeah, the Munchkin Fairie just stole my thoughts.
(KLM bows)

Add Beat Improbable Odds, and go for the "Roll twice"
with the
1, FTL is gone
2, Major time jump
combo, and THEN dare someone ask again...

Yeah, but remember children; the Wave Motion Gun can destroy entire panetoids / fleets in a single shot. Sorta like a giant quantum-flame thrower

Hmmm... Anyone EVER tried to fire a Rift cannon on a planet?

It is not an MD, but...
