I thought Mystic China covered how to premanantly take permanant control of a person using advanced negative chi techniques. Another option you might have woul dbe to utilize Chi Magic, there is a spell that allows someone with negative chi to heal as normal for the duration of the spell. I think the duration was 4 hours, and you'd either need some kind of enchanted object to use it on the heroes or you'd need celestial calligraphy.

simply give them Live off Negative chi spell. it lets you heal and live normally with negative chi.

Having Control Negative Chi work on creatures filled with Negative Chi, rather than infected by Negative Chi would be more than a minor house rule though.Raven1976 wrote:I dont think a minor house rule regarding a corpse acquiring negative chi is breaking the rules, but you misunderstand my intentions, I am wanting to establish a precedent for this sort of thing within the rules, without having to play the old "I'm the GM so i can rewrite the laws of physics and it works no matter whatelse anyone else says" card.
It would be simpler to infect them with Negative Chi and then control them. The breath of life spell is not necromancy, it returns you from the dead, not makes you an undead creature, it was never my intention to give the villian an army of zombies, my intention is an army of brainwashed superheroes, who can be deprogrammed and returned to play at a later date
You must not have spent very much time on this forum then.(one of the victims is the sidekick of one of my PC's, so i want to shock the PCs by making the attack more personal but still leave the sidekick alive so he can be brought back after the adventure)
I had forgotten about the Live off Negative chi spell but with such a limited duration, its not all that useful and i have no intention of givingmagical abilities to every hero who is resurrected.
The Negative chi control ability mentions that it is possible to permanently control someone who has been infected with negative chi but doesn't go into any detail about it, such as how much chi does it involve, what resistance the controlled person would get when they gain positive chi again, etc.
I guess i should have just come right out and asked if anyone had any house rules for detailed brainwashing but i have tended to notice a trend that simple questions on these forums tend to be either ignored completely or just given a very basic, 1 sentence not all that useful answer, which doesn't help those of us who are new to the game or just dont have the experience at creating and adapting rules that some people do.

Situtation
The villian for my HU/N&SS campaign is a diabolical Blood Mage trained in Negative Chi Techniques, and he is using a combination of Negative Chi Control and a modified Ritual to bring dead superheros back under his control.
After his minions defeat and kill the hero through whatever means necessary, their bodies are placed in an underground chamber to prepare for the ritual, which is a modified version of the Breath of Life spell from conversion book 1 (air warlock spell).
I have always used the house rule that a dead body, having no life force will accumulate negative background chi up to the environmental level (in this case negative 6 for the chamber) over the period of several hours after death. (please lets not have an argument over this fact, its merely my own justification for how necromancers are able to raise the dead and control them as negative chi is described as the force of death and unlife).
Once the ritual is complete, the dead hero is returned to life as per the spell but with a body infused with negative 6 chi, thus allowing the blood mage to control their minds using his negative chi control ability
Problem
and so we come to the problem. the rules for chi state that without positive chi in the body, no healing can take place. so evil blood mage now has a superhero under his mental control, but their bodies are still damaged from whatever method was used to kill them and cant heal until they have positive chi.
So use a magic spell to heal them before they are stuck into the crypt for Negative Chi absorbtion but after they are dead.
