So is it just assumed that we're using the old sourcebooks for the new edition or is there a chance they'll completely scrap what has been done with the rest of the world in those older books and come out with new slants on the world?

I'm more or less combining them. I highly doubt any AtB2 supplements will see the light of day.

Perhaps not from Wujcik, the man is plenty busy. But Palladium is grooming how many new Freelancers these days? They can't write just Rifts books forever.

Ok you have me at a disadvantage there have no clue what
Rebma is unless your refering to Amber diceless which is an entire different case all together it was taken by another company..... he has different situation with Palladium .... still in the end i'd take the man for his word in this topic

man i wouldnt even be surprised if he popped up in the next week or so on this thread an made a statement on the subject

Lynx

Taken? I was under the impression it was sold...as Rebma wasn't exactly first announced weeks before the change of ownership here.

Well...judging from the amount of activity that the Rifts forums gets compated to the TMNT/AtB forums here...I don't think the fan base would support supplements. Though, without knowing what consumer sales of AtB2 was, it's hard to speculate.

It supported several once, I figure it could support some more again.

Yeah, but look at the size of those books compared to the size of sourcebooks they put out now. I don't know if they would put out a source book that small. Best bet is to keep an eye on the Rifter.

1. Taken / Sold same thing different words...you know what I mean
2. Why do you keep calling it Remba? something i'm missing here? :?

Years ago (I want to say a Decade ago, maybe more) A book for the Rebma realm in the Amber series was announced. A friend I used to game with who was far more into the scene than I even spoke of having known the artist who had done artwork for it (perhaps even the cover....it's been 8 years since I was heavily into Amber so my memory is a little dodgy). For a lot of reasons that none of us will ever know, the book never came out. Do I question Wujcik loved Amber as much if not more than any Palladium book he's ever done? Heck no. But that still didn't make Rebma hit the shelves...same with the Mystic China Sourcebook. How long has that been now? Once again there's backstory and potential drama behind it all, but the long and the short is Palladium said there would be one (and that was what, 15 years ago?) and there isn't and most likely never will be. Wujcik has the best intentions and desires possible. Even with the books that haven't come out, he's still done a ton of books and is constantly working on stuff....but that doesn't mean we'll ever see another AtB book from him, nor should folks just wait for him to get around to it.

Those books also cost $7.95 there abouts, and it was at time when the TMNT RPG was very popular and hadn't suffered yet from the movies and the cartoons.

I like the old supplement books for TMNT and AtB.
I'd like to see books like Transdimensional TMNT (or whatever they would call it now) updated to the rest of the 2nd Edtion books.

Price is not something I'd worry overmuch about: Palladium prices are generally pretty decent.

They could update the old books with some new material and then put it out as one big book. Couple of these would be great with looks at different parts of the world.

Problem is that most of the old books would need to be modified to be in line with the 2nd Edition, and that means balancing the species, items and and new backgrounds or OCCs. And that probably requires some time to play test and balance before they would release it.

Hm. Play test before release? Not too sure about that one.

But yeah, rereleasing multiple books put under one large book is a good idea, with some additional fleshing out. Like what Palladium Fantasy did with the Wolfen books.

Price isn't an issue with me...it's the saturation of material that I don't like, the reason why I abandoned Rifts.

We could only dream of really any other product line getting half the saturation of material Rifts has.

Actually, I like AtB the way it is...you can still comfortable carry every book in the library in your back pack without having to hire a mule.
