Welcome to the Home by the Sea.
So I was listening to Genesis' "Home by the Sea" from the Genesis album the other day. It made me think of a new campaign idea.
As we relive our lives in what we tell you.
The song is essentially an homage to "The Prisoner", so the adventures will mostly be told in flashback. they can also have current adventures if they choose to try to escape.
"But what about a sense of danger for the flashback scenes?", you ask. Well it can be preserved by telling the players that they can actually die, and that their portion of the flashback is actually being read from a diary or reconstructed from archive footage.
Opinions?

three words
"brains in jars"
if the heroes are on some kinda 'think tank' in a world that's learned to support life outside the body, so to speak, why would any organization risk their brain trust escaping?
perhaps, to steal the VR idea
the world they think they're in is just the mootrix style simulation, affected by their memories...
thus they start encountering events from their past,
and therin have the whole "flashback" effect... deja vu style..
otherwise...
could always have them compose their characters, and lead up to some kinda big climactic battle where they loose...
then do the old "and that was all the flashback" ... now you guys, here's what happened afterwards... and the island...

yes, i have,
ages ago...
and a number of other shows that have ripped it off...
and the big problem is,
people trapped in that kinda think tank invariably have someone who tries to either ruin it, or escape...
thus
brains in jars
why bother giving them the chance of escaping.... and if their ideas start to prove detrimental to the colective, pull the plug...
