Nothing agaisnt Mr. Bishop, but I am very surprized that this book, or at least great parts of it, have not been outsourced to other writers by now.

However, the promised release for Mechanoids Space has been longer...

Palladium's never really done that in a big way though. Give a freelance book to another freelancer that is.

I just mean that if a manuscript is submitted and it has that many problems with it, then takes over a year for re-writes...

Well, if it were me, I would expect a call from Palladium telling me that they had decided to go in another direction, but thank you for your effort, Mr. Campbell.

On the other hand, Dan may have some ideas so fan-dam-tastic that they are letting him take all the time he needs.

So we shall see...

Well, it could also be a situation of "none of the other current freelancers are really just sitting around on their thumbs and are free to work on it" as well. I'm all for letting the original voice have time to find his complete story....but even if he can't, if there's no one else there to sing y'know?

Further proof that the company should stop announcing upcoming product until it has already been to the printers, and is on its way to the stores.

It just causes fan annoyance and undue pressure for writers.

Agreed. But I've felt that way since I first discovered Palladium back in '91-'92.

What it does do it provide time for the players to anticipate the release of the new book. It also gives the players an opportulity to suggest what they would like to see in the book while it is being written.

I disagree entirely. Like I said in....one of the save Palladium Book threads....I wish we never heard about a book until KS had gotten a finished first draft of it and felt it was still workable enough to edit himself. That's still weeks/months of time for him to promote it yet at least he knows he's got a completed book that will one day be ready for print. I'd wager half the stuff that we've heard about yet never seen never even got that far.

Maybe they will, as long as Palladium weathers the storm it is going thru at this time.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

Actually...

the status of this book was brought up at the VIP Friday NIght thing with Kevin. His reply was that it was currently being looked at as a project by other people (or that he was going to open it up to other people) because the promised re-write has been over a year in coming.

So, Kevin, if you're reading this, I've got an idea or two... ;)

He (Kevin) could be reading this. I know a couple of other presidents of a couple of companies I go too, reads their boards. Kevin probably does read them!

Well he does have his own forum, why wouldn't he check out boards to see what people are saying. He obvious read several posts after he went on about the financial troubles Blizzard had.

Just to derail slightly, I love how many of the new writers do read the boards here, and actually some were just your everyday poster before they made it big(so to speak)
God says he loves me, but I suspect he's just in it for the sex
