Proto Host Armor

Has anyone made one of these heavy bricks yet? I am thinking about making a npc that has his older brother's suit. What do you think?

Have not made one yet.

The rules say you can do it, so there should not be a problem doing it. Just remember that the old suit does not 'evolve'. No more bio points to change it.
:-(
I hate it when my mind wonders,
Because I have no idea what it will bring back with it.

Right, but as I recall, the Proto Host only gets upgrades when it is created except for extra speed and mdc as you level up(for the original owner only).

I was more interested in seeing how the Proto Armor holds up in combat along side actual Host Armor.

From what I've seen they work well. For a beginning character they are pretty heavy, especially with the hand me down aspect. They aren't nearly as versitle as the Host Armor. i see them being fairly common among Roughnecks due to their toughness.

you do realise though, cause your Proto-Armor wasnt made for you, it wont gain additional Bio-E points has you advance in levels.
Its frozen at whatever level your brother/relative was at.

I'd just get a New Proto-Host armor if i was you.

Though i'm more fond of the True Host Armors myself.

The one time it was been used, it was a high level suit with a low level player, so it worked well.

Thats cool. My group used one too, it died though. They could not get back in time to feed it (nuetriant bath). 3 day mission turned into a month long mission.

We just use the idea that you can bring "rations" with you. If not, then most weapons the Protohost and other things quickly die.

I didn't realize how old this thread was. My group doesn't play Splicers anymore, but I've used elements in Rifts, Phase World, and HU many times.

same here. on both counts.

I've been using Technojackers as a sub-type of Operators for Rifts. My players love that.

Has anyone noticed how fast proto host armors can potentially get? If, by some miracle, you roll the maximum every level for the running speed increase your level 15 proto host armor would have a running speed of 1000 mph!
