About hardened chi

If your char had hardend chi could it be used to block out the smoke of a cigerate of the a char sitting next to yours?

Not really, no. *Blows smoke* You could always use Chi Relaxation though...then you just won't care about it as much. *Blows some more smoke*

atemi abilities that paralyze certainly can...

I was sort of looking for an unobtusive way of stoping the smoke w/o say....Paralizing the smoker.

There must be some ability or spell out there that would put a bubble around you that perfectly filters out impurities in the air... while being non-intrusive so that none of the offenders would be offended by your offensive behavior.

I am not as familiar with them, but, there is the Chi Arcanist: a segue into using magic (and invocations).
I'd say look the OCC over (Mystic China).

Invincible armor actually protects aginst gases.

however, just cast sustain. immune to all toxic gasses.

I went to magic because I've quite simply never seen anything Chi based that accomplishes what you asked. The game world allowing for the existance of magical items that will cast spells for you allows for anyone to make use of magical effects.

how about this?

Mudra for Protection from Opiate's Dreams

This is used to protect the user from the effects of smoke of all types. Once this Mudra is attained, the character can move, fight, talk, but with one hand maintaining the Mudra position. The smoke in the air is diverted from touching the user in any form, so any smoke born drugs don't effect this char. A side effect is that no matter how long the user is in close proximity of a smoker they and there clothes do not take on take onthe smells of the smoke.

Meditation Time Required: 3 melee rounds (45 seconds)
Duration: Meditation Level (equal to the longest they can maintain a meditation trance)
Description of hand positions: Can be performed with either the right or left hand. The tips of the thumb and index and middle fingers are held together while the ring and little finger are held in the heal of the hand.
Chi Required: 10
Range: Self & a few inches about the user.

celestial calligraphy on a small paper rolled to look like a smoke..

light up yourself and your "circle of non-ignition" spell activates..
