Looks good...
What really irked me about the Three Galaxys Dimension Book was that the description stats for the 'Explorer' cruiser concentrated more on its values as a weapons platform, and didn't tell what made it uniquely suited for exploration work...

This is good because what we have here in the 'TRadesman' is the equivalent of a corporate exploration ship and heavy mercantile scout better suited to the task of openning up new territories...

I'd also add on drone deployment racks and lander packages for launching a variety of specialized (and expendable) probes, including stealth cultural study landers(good to have some idea of what the natives are like before you say 'howdy' and learn too late that they're rampant xenophobes who bring out the heavy artillery for strangers). Also at least one courier drone/bouy(so your homebase knows what killed you)

I keep seeing the unfolding little lander from 2010: Odyssey Two, trunki'n off from the Leonov...and Robert L. Forward's variety of specialized probes that his characters launch off in 'Flight of the Dragonfly'...

And don't forget our two little rovers on Mars...still going strong after over a year!

I'm kinda surprised there isn't more material on drone robots for Phaseworld....THough I imagine there are plenty of suppliers who are putting out various kits and packages for everything from ground rover utility 'bots to sophisticated 'Voyager'-style intersystem instrument 'buses', that can even deploy their own landers and atmosphere probes!

The fact hat it is a cruiser with as much MDC armour plating as a battleship.

I can only surmise that it was given so much protection because it was designed to be away from freindly ports and repair centers for years at a time...

gadrin wrote:actually its from JMS (crusade), as in the episode Memory of War where a Technomage left behind an AI to run things after he'd died.

I was thinking of a Gene-Tech who eventually died or was able to Transfer his Intelligence and use a holographic system. The idea was that he "created" the felines and was going to pit them against other parts of the region, until the Supernova effectively cut them off from other parts of the galaxy. Their tech was created from a time long ago and hasn't advanced much.

Hmmm, I wonder if this ship is too big to use with the Tradesman ? The Tradesman is about 3x the size..

Remember, what you can't fit into a hangar bay can always be maglocked to an external clamp, or parked in orbit....
Having backup ships when in unfamiliar territory is ALWAYS a good idea(just be sure to have your home coordinates safe-locked in case you encounter something you don't want following you home...)

My first impression of the Infiltrator was 'long range deep penetration'...so it oughta have its own FTL drive..and be as close to beating competitive Oni designs as the Naruni can make it...

Phase field would be an after-market modification...I don't see the Naruni offering Promethean-owned tech as showroom-standard tech....

Chameleon holo-flage and EW cloaking up the yazang on the other hand are more Naruni style.

I like your variant Gadrin!
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

I'll have to think about it for a short time. I'll post if I can think of something that someone else hasn't already suggested.

Maybe some sort of bay that could contain planetary probes one could launch them from. Of course the a cruise missile sized probe might work too.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

Unless they made it known they didn't carry any. Of course that might be a little stupid too.

That is the reason I was at first talking about a specific bay for deploying such probes.

I do have a pocket carrier version of the hunter. But the stats are in my CCW Warship folder at home. I built it on the vessel mentioned in the Rifter story "Hammer of the Forge." If someone reminds me I'll post the differences after work tonight.

Thank you for the reminder! :)

My Hunter variation got stretched by 100 feet. This area was for the 6 medium fighters it carried. Each of the fighters is set in there wing tip to wing tip for half of the flight. The other half is set facing the away from each other. That way the full flight can take off in an instant notice. And they can land in there individual bay. And therefore you have to add 10 for the flight crew. And you add 8 pilots for the fighters.

I drove up to Milwaukee to hang out with a friend who has to stay at home. He needed a few days away from work (he's a police officer) and he has to stay at home. So I went up and ran a game for him last night. Of course I drove back to Racine in that storm. I did a 180 on I94 just after I got on it. Luckily for me there were no cars traveling near me. So I just turned around and continued home. And luckily for me there was no damage to my car. I just spun around in the center of the road. It's always nice to face the on coming traffic in the same lane.  8)

220? Wow you are a speedy one! On average I'll drive around 115kmph but that is on the interstate. I think the fastest I've ever gone was behind a friend of mine who had a radar detector after 2am, and that was around 85 mph. (We were on our way to GenCon.)
