Robotics Question

Unread post by Ronin84 »

I have a player who wants to play the advance AI robot, which is cool, I will boost his budget and reduce the cost of the fusion plants, but he also asked for a healing factor....

I don't think he is being a munchkin, I can see the whole alien robotic nanite thing...what I was curious about was cost. I went through all of my books and didn't see anything comparable, any help is appreciated.

If you can check out Rifter #37. It has optional rules for mega - equipment heroes. One of the options is Nano-Robotics, it's really not bad.

unfortunately, there's no real guidelines for adding such abilities to robotics. really, the best thing i can think of is to discuss it with the player and come to an understanding. being a robot already, most of the secondary aspects of the power are already built into the character, so you're pretty much just adding the healing ability. sorry i can't really give any specifics, but i hope that helped. :D

edit: i haven't read rifter 37 yet, so my information doesn't include what might be in it. hopefully this will be remedied pretty soon.

Somewhere, and I want to say it is in one of the Phase World books there is a bionic version of the nano repair system. Now that I think about it I believe it was in the Bionics Sourcebook for Rifts.
