Treat them like anything that Shadow melds or has the spell - undetectable, even to thermals etc

as per the spell.

That is exactly how I would treat them as they are warm blooded creatures who reporduce like mamals. Definatly like the spell.

Their power of shadow melding is "as per the spell", so I'd say that they can be detected since theres no statement saying they can't.

It also says that they are quasi-elemental by nature, so there is reason to suspect that it can go both ways ....

gadrin wrote:I believe the power means you essentially become a shadow while inside one, since you're "melded" with it (not just standing in it), however it is strictly for visual effect, since you gain no other powers from it.

While so melded, you still have all your body's physical characteristics, so most humanans/humanoids will give off IR, just like they do anywhere else.

I'm wondering if you treat Silhouettes the same as humans ? Do they give off IR ? (like other warm-blooded animals)

Anyone seen a cold-blooded creature via IR ? :P

Even if they are not warm blooded they are not likly to be the same temprature of the wall they are standing near, meaning any person using the IR equipment may use a read sensory equipment or optic systems roll to determine the presence of a "being" to spot them.
