SDC values for clothing

I am just wondering what people here think the SDC values for clothing should be.
Most clothing would have nearly no SDC in regards to blunt damage, the only articles of clothing that would help against blunt damage would be heavy winter coats.
Same with blades, most clothing wont really help much in regards to blades.

What i am really wanting, is what would the SDC of clothing be against fire.

If NPC Bob is standing there, wearing Doc martins, Blue Jeans, and a Cotton shirt, and someone throws a 1d6 fireball at him, what will happen. How much damage will he take to chest and how much damage will the cotton shirt take.

If Bob were to run through a burning field, how much damage would his shoes and jeans and shirt take before burning up and doing damage to him.

If bob were to reach into a fire with leather gloves to pick up a piece of burning log, how much damage can the glove take before Bob takes damage.

And yes, I am trying to get as specific as possible.

Assuming its just plain clothing, (no kevlar or those cute little chain link outfits the goth punks like to wear) I would say.......


1 SDC per pound.

Its up to you to figure out how many pounds stuff weighs, cuz I really dont know.

Keep in mind different materiels react in different ways.
When I was in the Navy we werent allowed to wear the polyester uniforms on board ship. When you're on duty anybody can be called to man the fire team, even the poor bastards on watch. If you go down into a fire with polyester all over your body, bad things will happen.

As another example, wool is much more able to withstand flames.

I think you would have to come up with a materiels list and maybe apply multipliers.
Polyester is 0.5, wool is 2.5. And so on.
I guess cotton could be a baseline at 1.0.
