I was thinking of using a Geo-Immortal from Nightbane as a Rifts NPC. For those who don't know, a Geo-Immortal is a magic user who has discovered a way to gain immortality by drawing on the mystic energy of a ley line or nexus. As long as they are on or near one they do not age, and (this may be wrong) they can supercharge themselves with mystic energy for small periods of time.
I was thinking that because of the heightened level of magic energy on Rifts that the Geo-Immortal would not age no matter what his distance from a ley line or nexus, and could go supercharged at any time for the normal duration, but could go supercharged indefinitely while on ley lines or nexus points. They would be S.D.C. and Hit Point beings normally, but would become M.D.C. beings while super-charged (haven't decided on amount yet, maybe just add S.D.C. and HP together).
What do you guys/gals think? Do you have any suggestions?
Thanks.

Not quite.
The Geo Immortal dosn't just draw energy from ley lines for his immortality. if you read closer, he links his soul to ONE specific ley line.
He will live as long as the ley line exsists, but he is inextribably bound to that one ley line, and will age if he goes more than a mile away from it.
with more powerful ley lines, I would say multiply it by oh, say...100 times so 100 mile range total.

Alright, I got my book back from my friend and re-read the Geo-Immortal O.C.C., and could not find anything that stated that it created a connection to one and only one Ley Line. In fact it always refers to ley lines, with an "s". It even says that upon completion the character either loses all P.P.E., dies, or creates a connection with the Ley Lines throughout the Mega-Verse. It also says that as long as the character stays withing a certian distance of a Ley Line they recieve the benifits of the longevity/immortality. Do you have a paragraph or page reference?
JTwig, I belive you are correct in that the Immortal can use any ley line. I have Nightlands second printing and it says their powers (specifically immortality, healng, etc), they need to be in proximity to a Ley Line, it says nothing about bonding to a specific Ley Line.
This makes sense to me as Ley Lines in NB are supposed to be much less abundant then on Rifts Earth. A Gemomantic Immortal coming to Rifts Earth would surely be thrilled by the number of Ley Lines and Nexus Points.

Ya, not a big deal, your usually rather accurate. I was just confused and was second guessing my reading comprehension, because when I was reading it I was getting a whole different interpretation.
