Palladium Update – Dyval, Robotech, Auction

Unread post by Kevin »

Palladium Update – December 7, 2007

It has been a busy week

Here’s the breakdown of my week so far . . .

17 hours this week on Christmas Surprise Packages
10 hours on my contributions to The Rifter
8 hours working on Dyval
6 hours in meetings and discussions with various Palladium staff
4 hours writing bills, four hours answering e-mail
4 hours writing descriptions for our last auction of the year
2 hours writing contracts
A few hours on other business stuff, and I still have all of Friday and Saturday to go. Arrgh. Good thing I love my work. It’s grueling, but needs to be done if we are ever going to see new books hitting store shelves!

I slept over at the office on Tuesday and Thursday in an effort to catch up. I hope to spend most of Friday, all of Saturday and most of next week working on Dyval. My day typically starts at 6:00 AM when I wake up till 8:00 PM most days; midnight on long days.

Dyval is a monster, but it’s awesome!

I regret to report that Dyval is just one of those books that takes forever to finish. I’m still writing slow, I keep getting pulled away to do other things (see above), but work on it is progressing. I figure I have about a week's work to go before I’m finished. Finally.

I think you will find Dyval worth the wait. It is jam-packed with new Deevils and monsters, presents old Deevils with new information, the planes of Dyval are unique and different, the ideas are awesome, and the artwork is fantastic.

Of course, this means Dyval won’t be out until January, 2008. We’re thinking The Rifter® #41 early January. Dyval mid-January, and Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles® RPG end of January or early February.

Robotech® The Shadow Chronicles® RPG

90% of the artwork for this book is finished and looks great. Apollo is putting the finishing touches on the cover, and we are excited as all get out on this book. It is the next book I dive into and will see a February, 2008 release.

Already working on other books

Meanwhile, work has already begun on Dimensional Outbreak (Minion War Book 3), Johnny Z will soon start work on the cover to Armaggedon Unlimited (Minion War Book 4), Carl Gleba is busy writing Megaverse in Flames (Minion War Book 5), I have Heroes of the Megaverse® outlined with small sections roughed out, and we have a dozen, finished manuscripts lined up and waiting for final rewrite and editing! With the help of Jason Marker, we hope to come out with at least one book, in some cases two books, per month next year.

Christmas is around the corner . . .
Keep those Christmas Surprise Packages coming!

We shipped 104 Christmas Grab Bags so far this week. 77 on Monday and 12 on Wednesday, 16 on Thursday. There are going to be a lot of happy customers as we continue to work hard to make each and every Grab Bag special.

Christmas is quickly approaching! Get those Grab Bags in as quick as you can.

MOST orders going to addresses in the USA will get to you via USA Post Office by Christmas if you order before December 15th. HOWEVER, “Media Mail” takes 7-21 days! So order via first class mail, priority mail or UPS. UPS orders will get to most places in 3-5 days after shipping (please allow a day or two for us to process orders). That means UPS orders placed as late as December 17 should get to you by Christmas Eve, but no promises.

The Last Palladium Collectibles Auction

I pulled out all the stops on our last Palladium Auction. We have no plans to do any auctions next year.

- Original Artwork By: Apollo Okamura, Ramon Perez, Mike Wilson, Kent Burles, Mark Dudley, and Kevin Siembieda.

I’m putting up the entire five page Triax Gargoyle comic strip (which Carmen Bellaire says looks much better as the original artwork), two pencil pages from Monsters and Animals and some other stuff, plus my only three "castle prints” from the 1982 Weapons and Castles book.

- Gold Machinations of Doom “printer proof” (which are almost completely gone) with an original drawing of Moses by me, and sigs by Ramon, me and the Palladium staff.

- 20 Proofreader copies of books, including Rifts® Mercenaries, Merctown, Merc Ops, Coalition Wars, Splicers® and a bunch of premium titles.

- Rifts® Ultimate Gold edition.

- The last of The Rifter® back issues.

- The last of my dragon prints.

- Amberzine #11 and #12

- Three cool Rifts® mouse pads

- And a bunch of other unique collectibles and one of a kind items.

Auction starts December 8 (ends December 15 – so those of you having your won items shipped by priority mail, express mail, or UPS should get them before Christmas).

This is your last chance to get truly unique Palladium collectibles for yourself or as Christmas gifts. We have no plans to host any auctions next year. This is it.

Keep those imaginations burning bright.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
