Personally I think they should come out with a book dedicated directly to the incredible minnions of the Gene-Splicers :-D They created so many races that could perpetuate themselves that they could prolly dedicate a whole book to them . Least that is what I think when I ready anything about them it does not directly say it but it IS implied as such . That would go along perfectly in my opinion with the books that could go along with this entire line of books .

I hate the gene splicers...at least the ones on RIFTS Earth. I have no problem with them in Phase world, just keep them off of my planet.

The GeneSplicers racebook sounds like a good idea.

Ty very much :D

I think they deserve an entire book personally but half of it should be at LEAST be about the "creations" of the gene-splicers and possibly several tables put together for posible other creations at GM's descretion .

I assume you guys mean "the sketch" so I'll see what I can come up with.

Actually, I believe they mean the character concept of a Drammin Crazy that welcomes insanity as a means to understand his existence.

Just got hold of my copy and so far I'm very impressed - muchos NPC material and 'burb denizens.

I think my favourite so far are the Grackle-tooth (of course), Dramin, Fairie-bots (lol), Dewtani and Feni(sp? - the deer survivalist types) nomads.

This is going to be a much used reference I foresee. :ok: 9/10

Quite a few lizard/reptile types though eh?

I'd think they'd fall under the non-psychic cyber-knights who can just summon the Psi-Sword.

ok i have question i am looking at the Kremin borgs here. it says they have nano regen but does not list how quickly they repair mdc or how long it takes to adapt rifts tech to theirs which it says it can do as a matter of fact it gives no game stats what so ever. i even tried looking in CWC where they also appear and that book has the same problem. any help would be cool here thanks

so what your saying is to use the stats from the bionic source book even though these are supposed more advanced and can even adapt rifts tech to match theirs? i don't seem to remember the ones out of the bionic source book being able to do that, as i recall they were much more limited than the write up on these suggest. any other answers?

The greatness that is the Thumper did NOT make it in. It was really designed more as a "creature" than a player race, like a Psi-Pony or something like that. It's just intelligent enough to warrant some skill selections and such.

Cortex wrote:Excellent book. Definetly one of my favourite Rifts books

I have some questions:

First about how much a Malvoren can mix and match his meldings:

1) If a Malvoren used "Meld with War machine" to meld himself into a robot vehicle, can he use "Meld with Weapons" on each of the individual weapons of that robot to "fire link" them ?

2) If a Malvoren gave himself 2 extra cyborg arms (so he now has 4 arms), if he was holding a hand gun in each hand could he use "Meld with Weapons" on each of the guns to be able to "fire link" then to shoot all 4 guns as a single melee action?

3) I also have a question about the Yhabbayar bubble maker:
It sais one magic bubble can be blown per melee action. Does this apply to very high level spells that would normally take a human 3 melee actions to cast ?

4) In order to blow bubbles, a Yhabbayar has to sit cross legged, close his eyes, enter a trance, levitate 1-3 feet etc. Does this take time or is it assumed to be done in the first action of combat along with him blowing his first bubble ?
For example if the party suddenly meets some enemies and initiative is rolled. Can the Yhabbayar blow his first bubble on his first melee action ?

1) I would say no.
2) I would say yes.
3) Yes
4) Action one - enter trance. Action two - levitate, Action three - blow first bubble. Your GM May allow you to combine actions one and two

I have recently re-read this book and would like to pay my respects to the writers and the artists involved. Having not cracked it open for 9 months or so, it was great getting re-acquainted with some of my old faves (Malvoren, Greot Hunter, Vintex), finding my new flavour of the month D-Bee - the Aviane. Love it. Rolled up 3 as theorycraft already, and by God they make amazing Battle Magi... I like my Aviane Air Warlock the best though. He is even a contender for the my "theoretical magic user of choice", taking on a True Atlantean Lord Magus/Shifter...

shaidwalker wrote:Just a quick question.

Is the information on the Lanator accurate?
They can have up to 200 MDC to start
Faster than a juicer
with psionics and magic
supernatural strength and endurance
And they can still min/max out on physical skills to push that even higher.

i don't remember them from psyscape (but I don't have that book with us).

So why ever play a juicer or crazy? (unless you want the added role playing of the last call or the insanities, etc...)
Where is there any drawback? Isn't this powercreep going mad? At first level with martial arts, boxing he has what 7 or 8 attacks? Starts with autododge at +7, so that is 8 straight attacks, and dodging (when he doesn't even need to cuz of all taht MDC)

So he can't go into coalition cities. Ok. No problem.
Yes he is a bit big and easy to notice.
These guys aren't jumpy or constantly bouncing off the walls.
But damn...
at least with juicers and crazies they are squishy (sdc), and with other creatures like the grackletooth and the larmac they are minor MDC (under 50 to start).

Take a lanator and put him in medium body armor and you could stand him toe to toe with a full conversion borg and have a better than 50% chance of winning.
Maybe I missed something, but it appears to have the most MDC in the Dbs book, the most straight up combat bonuses and no real weaknesses.
so I am wondering if the stats posted in my book are wrong, needing errata or is it correct?

You are not mistaken. The Lanotaur is a combat beast. As for MDC, I believe that the Obsedai has the most in the book, but I could be mistaken. You should play a character because you like the concept and not because they're better at combat. You can'tplay a human lanotaur hunter, so if you want your character to be fast, and human, you should play a juicer. Its role playing, not ROLL playing.
