Auction of Erick Wujcik Collectibles

As most of you probably already know, Erick Wujcik is terminally ill. So he has been putting his affairs in order, meeting with friends, cleaning out his storage facilities and giving piles of stuff away.

He gave to me several boxes of Palladium RPG items, some Amber stuff and artwork with the instructions: “Palladium needs money. Keep what you want and sell the rest.”

I’ve tried to express at numerous places on line and at various times how close Erick and I are. How much we mean to each other and how much we will each miss being a part of each other’s lives. I think Erick’s act of generosity and kindness by giving me this stuff and telling me (not asking) to sell it to help Palladium, is one more example of what a genuine good soul he is. Seeing these items put up for sale has to be difficult for him. Heck, I know it is. It hurt when I had to sell off large portions of my collection to keep Palladium afloat. This has to be a hundred times more difficult for Erick. With me it was to keep a legacy alive. To keep people employed and to keep Palladium creating games and enriching lives. Erick’s kind act is doing very much the same thing, only there is also a profound finality to it.

As I sort through these treasures and memories, I’m tempted to just keep it all, or at least half of it. I’m pleased to add several items to my own collection of books, art and silly stuff that makes me smile and remind me of wonderful times, challenges and accomplishments over the last 30 years. However, Palladium does need money and I will always have my memories and the joy they bring, so I am putting up a number of books, prints, pieces of artwork, and odds and ends from Erick Wujcik’s collection, up for sale in a handful of auctions this Spring.

The first of such auctions is already in progress and ends Saturday, February 23, 2008.

It offers all kinds of great stuff, including various TMNT® RPG titles, a complete set of Wujcik TMNT books, a couple of Transdimensional TMNT sourcebooks – all are signed by Erick and I, all are from Erick’s collection/archives. There is also a big, gorgeous photo-print of the Transdimensional TMNT cover art by Kevin Long (suitable for framing), some Amber Diceless items, super-rare prints, proofs, and Kevin Long Robotech artwork, and other good stuff. More Long and Kucharski art will be offered in the next auction in March.

Most of the items come from Erick’s personal collection and is shipped with a Certificate of Origin and Authenticity stating it comes from Erick’s collection. Anything else comes from my own collection or Palladium’s archives. Many are limited press runs or one-of-a-kind.

This is your chance to get some rare, unique, fun, memorable and special items for your collection, so take advantage of it while you can. And cherish them as we have.
