so what would the side affects be if you used a sonic weapon under water?

They way water transmits it, it could do more damage, plus, if a directed 'beam', could likely do damage radiating out from it.
While not exactly the same, explosions are far more devastating in water than air, and worthless in space without fragmentation. The thicker the atmosphere, the more you feel waves in it, as they transmit better.
Really wish I could remember where that question was, think it was in a book, rather than online, started off by asking about a sound/sonic based spell.
Always thought the Banshee's Sonic Cannon would be devastating converted to underwater use.
