Here is an awesome online mapping resource (takes UTM or lon/lat). Of course, topzone.com also has maps available. Google maps (Google Earth gets map updates before Maps do and has more information available) does a good job, too.
You can use this to prepare maps for your game or if you are playing online just broadcast coordinates to one another.
When I first started playing RPG, mapmaniac lather would use actual maps and aerial photographs. It did not matter that the map was southern Illinois and we were adventuring in Timiro Kingdom; we just need a map of a forest. So I blame him for my tedious map making and map preparing, one of the most time consuming things I did in the run up to our online Systems Failure game over the weekend.

That's a really neat idea that hadn't crossed my mind. Thanks. To use real world maps (forests) and convert them to a fantasy setting. I bet you could do wonders with oceans/water/lakes, deserts, plateaus of the southwestern US, and the Grand Canyon perhaps. Really snazzy idea.
