The original McKinney novels had Rick and Lisa having a single son, named Roy(a lot of fanfic writers have snapped this up)...
Prelude to the Shadow Chronicles has Lisa miscarrying as a result of injuries sustained during Edwards' escape from Tirol, and subsequent complications have rendered her unable to have children....Art of Robotech: The Shadow Chronicles, in the Character bio-section reports of the Hunters: 'Their futile attempts to start a family were met with heartbreak due to the demands and dangers of serving as flag officers of the expedition.'...so it's unlikely that unless a medical miracle occurs, and a late-in-life pregnancy initiated, that Rick and Lisa will have any children in the emerging official storyline...

Actually this could lead back to the infamous love triangle with Minmei. Minmei becomes a surrogate mother to Lisa and Rick's child. Or Rick has an illicit affair with Minmei and get her preggers...

Oh and the horrors ensue if Minmei becomes their nanny! The kids will start singing, "My Boyfriend is a pilot" or "My Time To Be A Star"

It's a very sad state of affairs that Rick and Lisa are denied one healthy child! :-(

That is true. But I always thought genetic descendants would be the primary to the Hunters passing on their inheritance.

Lisa was over 50 at the time they were trying to have kids, honsetly, she prolly just miscarried on her own, and blames it on the "Attack" by Edwards.

Who knows...between Protoculture and Tirolian medicine, the life expectancy and fertility of human beings(those that aren't killed off in incessant war) may be greatly prolonged....Depending on who you ask, some of the Zentraedi and Tirolians were several hundred years old, and what they might be able to do with genetic retrovirus treatments....okay, SUCESSFUL genetic treatments(not like we want an 'I Am Legend' scenario)...

Though if such a 'fountain of youth' treatment became available, the Hunters would likely be among the last to take it, wanting to see others benefit from it first...

Protoculture is a Fuel source... I dont see it doing much for the Human Immune system, or reproductive system.... It aint Spice.
depending on whats considered Canon, the Zents Vary in age, but you can also say the only Zent who was Fertiel with humans was Miryia, since no other half-breeds are seen in Robotech, or Mentioned Specifically.

Ah, but Zentraedi cloning/micro/macronization and Tirolian clone culture were dependent on it...Humans just neglect those aspects because of the social issues involved...

Now, it's a possibility, but highly UNlikely, given the perceived Zentraedi copyright problems buggering the Shadow Chronicles, but resurrecting Zentraedi cloning techniques for exogenesis purposes is a potential way to give childless Robotech couples a chance to have kids with at least SOME of their genetic material...

Of course, copying the original Zentraedi production methods complete with basic skill hypnoprogramming, means you start out with a teenager in perfect health, basic skills, obediance programming, few social skills, and, depending on how much else of the Zentraedi skill programs you forgot to reformat...all the weapons and piloting skills to make a parent's nightmare if the kid decides to go juvenile delinquent...

But as I said, unless Harmony Gold works out the issue of how much previous material they can re-introduce to the storyline, like the Zentraedi, Protocuture will likely be cast as simply a power source and Invid food, without exploring other aspects of it...

2 daughters...maybe the son referred to in some Southern Cross sources...
Of course, if you're talking about the Macross 7 clan...it's no wonder Miriya and Maximilian are estranged....the poor woman!

Hey guys don't forgetthatthe other sentinel races were shown in the prelude, so if Paraxia still exists then they could always give thier sperm and eggs to the birthing machine on Piraxia (or what ever it was called.)

They still got it...

But the Robotech Max and Miriya are a bit more restrained(from what little we know)...

As for the Praxian birthing machinery? Dang, but that's gotta be some reliable hardware...otherwise I'd FEAR Praxian genetic engineering capabilities...

Well. you got a planetary population of over 2 billion to make up for(3 billion if you count Zentraedi losses)

And when you got two bloodlines(the Sterlings and the Parinos) that even the folks who are shy about the mention of eugenics agree should breed, nobody's going to fault them for having more kids... :D

Dana and Maia are the only two we officially know though right?
Another was referenced in Dana's halucination in Southern Cross. Did we get a name? And the boy was just a throw away line about how her younger brother went with the Pioneer mission?

The Praxian birthing machine was known as the "Waashi" and was a gift from Haydon, it was destrpyed with Praxis, in the novels the Praxians are given Optera (the Invid Homeworld) which is renaimed New Praxis, Dana's sister in Shadow Chronicles IS the same one from the vision but in the novels her name was Aurora, and Minmei is with the Zor clone Rem who eventually have a son .... the original Zor (according to the Novel End of the Circle)

No, Dana's younger brother is referenced in Triumvirate as being someone she left behind 'back home'. If we are speculating, presumably Dana and 'Ben' Sterling were raised by the late Ben Dixon's father and mother (referenced from Love & War) somewhere in North America (but not Monument City).

I thought the birthing machine was a product of thier old tech, but I could be wrong as I have not read the novels in like 12 years.
But the Sentinels arc has been rewritten for canon so they might not have kept that bit that it was a present from Haydon (who is probably the awareness in the shadow cronicles.)

Triumvirate was episode #50. The name 'Ben' was something several of us fans agreed upon based on Tom and Dennis Bateman's ideas for the unnamed Sterling son.

Yep...So was Sylia from Macross II(it was hinted she may have had a touch of Mletran blood in her past), but Guld was more obvious...

Somehow, from what I've seen of Maia....I think she'd deny having any sort of 'out of body experience', at least in public....PTSC shows a kinda tense relationship with her sister...it's clear she'd like to be more than a name and a face to Dana, but Dana keeps the walls up where her own emotional wounds are concerned...and having Rem around didn't help things much either...

The McKinney novels.....probably best at depicting the actual original story arc, but regarded nowadays with a skeptical eye by most of fandom, but since nothing else has arisen to correct the greater part of the story...However, SC appears to indicate that much of the storyline associated with the novels will be overturned...and certainly the abomidable 'End of the Circle' post-story....

Yeah, I too, would really like to see them have something approximating a normal family life after all they've been through...

All of the information that I've provided is indeed from the novel "End of the Circle". And the children did have creepy Psi-powers even Breetai's son Drannin, they all actually pulled the original fold drives from the SDF-1 during it's maiden voyage and pulled them and the Protoculture MAtrix into the future.........

Colonel Wolfe wrote:the Girl Dana sees in her Halucination is Maya.... she was born with Blue hair that changed to Purple.... like dana was.... but Dana's turned BLonde...

i always ascribed to the "dye-job" theory myself. given dana's 'perm" hairdo, that's not too far fetched. dana may well have been self-conscience about her green hair, and decided to bleach and dye it blonde to fit in better on earth. the hair style was just her trend following fashion sense.

maya could well have been born with blue hair but died it lavender.

i figure Max probably had a dye job as well, given that blue isn't a normal human color

The comics by the Waltrip Brothers are by far the best example of Sentinels so far....

Except when the Waltrips began drifting into obvious slapstick and minor characters began dominating the page space...They also began showing the characters 'running' more like levitation, and the Invid were becoming entirely too personable for my taste(for one thing, they kept using Invid in open-faced armor where Invid Enforcers and Hive Guards would have been a better choice...

Started out nice, with a lot of good background touches with game applications...like base structures made of piled-up Horizont bunkers, and various signage aboard Sentinel ships/the streets of Karbarrea, but somewhere along the line they lost the edge...

I think the books say Dana's hair blonded over time. That kind of makes sense. Remember that Miriya spent her life in space. Her hair had never had any sun exposure for any significant amount of time.
Maia, also, has spent most of her life in space or bouncing from world to world. She probably grew up in SDF-3 with her parents.
Dana, especially riding around in an open-air tank cockpit, soaked up the rays and it lightened her hair to a natural blonde color.

"sun bleaching" can change the shade, but you won't get a change from green to honeyblonde without some form of artificial intervention. (as always, assuming that the odd haircolors like green are natural in zentreadi)

I still have to read those last few novels. I'll read them eventually. :D
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

Thats what I heard too. I have read the original series of books. (the 6 for Macross, 3 for Southern Cross and 3 for New Generation) but not the other ones. (Sentinels, Master's Gambit, Before the Invid Storm, etc.)
I heard End of the Circle just doesn't fit in with the rest.

I have to read novels #18, 19, 20 and 21. I have them in my collection, I just have to read them. I know that a lot of people can't stand them. I enjoyed them.
