Technology Updates

Unread post by Mantisking »

The purpose of this topic is for people to post links to new devices or articles that might be of use in Ninjas & Superspies. So we can all look at neat things to include in our games.

Radar Device
Taser Shotgun Round
Burning Bullets

I think I've got a few more links in my new issue of Popular Science at home. I'll post them later.

You're welcome. I figure all these interesting items could be adapted into the game. Here's another one;

South Korean Sentry Robot.

Yeah, having a robotic gun platform for characters to run into could be fun for the GM. :D

There are some elements on N&S that are advanced and some that are stone age.

Here's one I'm sticking in here although it involves firearms. The testing is not exactly scientifically rigorous, but you'll get the idea. :D

Yes, I'm a construction worker.

I do believe the lift capacity of most fork lifts like that is about 2000 lb., depending on the angle of the boom and if it has out-riggers & if they are deployed.

I've only been in a construction worker about 7.5 years. I never was in an armed force. Unless you could count my gaming group who brought their firearms for Y2K and shot up tin cans and scuba tanks, when we went out camping a few times. :rolleyes:

Cool devices. Some of which I've done my own research on them before. (The supercavitating torpedo being one that I'm familiar with along with a few of the others.) The hacking article is really cool and scary! Thank you for posting these links. They are very cool.

The one I want to try: Brain Port

I first saw this in the Army Times and the article spoke of successful trials with Navy SEALs being able to find a dime on the bottom of a pool through a "sonar sense". The next thing they where looking to experiment with was Passive Night Vision and the ability to provide 360 degree sight. Supposedly it feels like "pop rocks" in the mouth (for those of you old enough to remember).

It would give them another advantage over their enemies. I'm all for it. Maybe this could be used for cyborgs in other games. Especially the aquatic versions.
