What does the character keep when changing classes

Unread post by Brewski »

OK I know I will be referred to another book but I just cant pony up for a new book (High Seas) right now so I just need a temporary fix.
I have a warrior monk player who wants to go assassin.
What monk power/skills will he keep?
I understand the sk/parry/dodge combat tree where they dont change until the assassin combat tree catches up but does he keep the monk abilities like Spirit Strike and the meditation?
What does he lose with him leaving the warrior monk class?

All skills and powers are frozen at their current levels/power.

I believe they lose spirit strike. I think that's strictly a Warrior Monk ability and is lost if they choose another career path.

looked at the post again and I will have to say that if they are changing alignment as well as profession they would loose all their god given powers. While the monk skills would be frozen.

But if he is changing from a monk of an evil god to an assassin who works in the name of that same evil god, then the monk powers would just be frozen.

In most cases of a priest changing classes, if he lost his faith, he would loose his powers.

Why just his pants? Doesn't he keep the shirt on his back too?

I think that is a reference to "that other game" where every picture of a male monk is shirtless...

Every group has one problem player. If you cannot spot the one in your group; look in the mirror.
It is not a good session until at least one player looks you in the eye and says "you sick twisted evil ****"
