Anthology book, Robotech® Hardcover, & more on schedule

The Rifts® Anthology book, Robotech® Hardcover, Robotech Gold Edition®, Macross Sourcebook, and more are on schedule

I told you when books started to ship they would be shipping like crazy, so get ready, because here they come.

The Rifts® anthology book – Tales of the Chi-Town ‘Burbs is done and at the printer. It was finished and sent in yesterday, Monday, July 21, 2008. The Printer says it will ship around August 6th. That's when the 8 1/2 x 11, hardcover and Gold editions of the Robotech® RPG ship too.

All of us at Palladium think the anthology book is outstanding and we are very proud of it.

I was pleased and surprised by the diversity of the stories. There are a couple horror stories, action-adventure, slice of life, Erin Tarn, and other stories. Story elements include betrayal, treachery, love, rejection, rediscovery, magic, history, monsters, the Coalition Peacekeepers, General Joseph Prosek, the Bloody Campaign, family, self-discovery, revenge, greed, envy, cruelty, futility, hope, heroism, humanity and more.

After Julius Rosenstein finished the proofreading he came into my office all grins and said, “Wow, I really liked it. In fact, this book should be required reading for anyone planning to have the Chi-Town ‘Burbs in their campaign. Two thumbs up.”

Kathy Simmons enjoyed them so much that she had me send them to her, one at a time, as soon I finished them, even before final edit, and became our story consultant.

Wayne, Alex, and everyone who has seen the stories have enjoyed them and raved about the book. We all certainly enjoyed working on it and hope sales will be strong enough to do another quickly. We already have enough material for half a book (Irvin Jackson, Shawn Hall, etc.).

Personally, I loved it. Loved working on other people's stories, loved the editing of the material, loved being able to stretch my own skills writing prose. I think you'll like it too.

Next up is Robotech®

The Macross and The Masters Saga sourcebooks have been in development for a few months now. I’ve been spending my time re-watching all of Macross on DVD and taking notes, as well as coordinating artists and artwork, and handling various business aspects. I'll be diving into writing my portion of this book starting today. Jason Marker has been a writing fiend and is nearly done with the Veritechs, Destroids and other war machines for Macross, as well as O.C.C.s. When he’s done, he’ll go straight back into finishing the Masters Saga (Southern Cross) which is going to be epic.

The Macross sourcebook will be great and fun, because it's a toy box filled with famous mecha, vehicles, weapons, gear and characters. It's a sure-fire hit waiting to be published.

If we get our way, The Masters Saga will be epic. It will present material never before seen that will knock your socks off!

Our goal is to have Macross to the printer BEFORE we leave for Gen Con and Masters/Southern Cross out by the end of September.

And Jason and I already have ideas for numerous other Robotech® sourcebooks, but we’ll save that news for some other day after the above titles come out.

After Gen Con® will be Macross and The Masters/Southern Cross sourcebooks followed by Dead Reign, The Rifter® #44, Dyval, Dimensional Outbreak and Mysteries of Magic. Not necessarily in that order.

Meanwhile, Carmen Bellaire is helping out on various projects and Jeffry Scott Hansen is busy working on his portion of Warpath: Urban Jungle. And there are a bunch of other manuscripts we are lining up for release in early 2008 (Nightbane sourcebook, Rifts® Dark Woods, Rifts® Voodoo, Shemmarian Nation, Triax Two and more), as well as Project X, but let us focus on getting the above, long awaited books out first.

That’s it for now. We’re fired up about upcoming releases and hope you are too.

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
