It's been practically swamp stagnant dead for years, unfortunately. Perhaps Jason Vey (or whomever took care of the site) finally decided to call it quits.

When I tried to register it took the admins over a year to finally approve my account. It seems like whoever ran it lost interest in it a long time ago.

Personally I would say only the Magus can learn spells normally. But that's just me. And by normally you mean like a Sorcerer right?

Yes, I nixed the site, as it's been effectively dead in the water for quite some time, and I wanted to focus on getting some boards up and running for my new company.

Whilst this is completely understandable it still sucks ass. I enjoyed the place it was a wealth of info for NB. Good luck on the boards for your new company.

Well here's to hoping that Kevin decides to release it in a Rifter or something one day because all that sounds like it would be really interesting. I admit I like the half angel background idea there, but yea, I can see why they might decide to have you change that bit.

In retrospect I should've spent more time on the psychics, secret societies (though there was a HUGE AMOUNT of stuff on secret societies that was cut...which is why there are references to the Illuminati peppered throughout the book, but no actual information about the group appears anywhere), and information about the Lightbringers and Nocturnes, and left the Athanatos with the 10 or so pages of the Rifter 16 article.

I'd love to show you guys the cut material, but it's no longer mine to give; SoL was work for hire, so that's all on Kevin's plate, now. At one point Wayne and I discussed publishing it (along with the errata such as the missing XP tables) in the Rifter or on the Cutting Room Floor, but then Palladium and I parted ways and it just kind of never happened.

well, now that PB published cut stuff from the original Dead Reign in the RIFTER, maybe its time to think about that again...with a new Nightbane-book in the can, its time to create attention for this excellent game!
