A Mutant animal Inherit the Earth like setting

Unread post by LWhitehead »

Hi I've got an idea for a Mutant animal furry setting that's like Earth from Inherit the Earth PC DOS game, so I need to know what Palladium RPG books would I need for an Earth that's far in the future but the Mutant humoid races are in the Middle Ages when it comes to tech and timeframe. Also there no Partial or Full looks for these Mutants in this setting because Humans created them that way, this is a setting were the Human race is gone and these races have inherited the Earth from them. One of the main themes of this world is the simple fact Humans are gone and these animal socities don't know why they left and what happened to them an example of this is a monkish order that believes that the Humans ascended into the sky proof they say is at night the full moon shows the face of a Human looking down on them, other theories range from the simple thought that we killed each other in great war so distructive that it left very few records that it happen, one reasons why there are few Human relics and buildings left behind and why they keep only finding bits and bobs of Human society such as highways and worn Copper and Stone statues to long lost Human people and ideas.

I would say grab a copy of the original TMNT or AtB2, the Mutants in Avalon supplement, and the Compedium of Weapons, Armors, & Castles. If you want to get really creative you could jury rig some kind of apprenticeship for mages using the original PFRPG and Mystic China.

I've got half of the Palladium RPG books you mention, does anyone think that this would make a good setting a Middle Age Earth and North America that has Furry humiod races like the Wolven in it.

Most of the AtB posters don't care much for the Furry term. But I think your setting would appeal to people that want high fantasy.

Well these Mutants don't have partial or full looks all have none like the Wolven of Palladium fantasy world, now one of the underlying themes of this setting is what happened to the Humans like in North America were most of the setting take place. The social and tech level is that of late Middle Ages including several holy and Monk like orders explaining what happened to the Humans why they went away and if there coming back, however all of the Mutant animals races agree that they were created for a reason that is now lost in mist of time and legend. On the subjecvt of Humans well each Mutant animal race has there own view and spin on why the Humans dispeared and why they were each created, but in general the Mutant races find bits and bobs of what we Humans left behind like Highways and Statues.

well my version of the Wollven are based on Imperial Rome, they have a Ceaser and Senate who are made up of the very old male members of there race, now the Emperor's postion and power is kept throught his Legions and through them there Generals it's an race that has backstabing as path to power, in other words a good Wolf Romian citzen keeps one eye out for his better and one eye on his lower beneigh him.

I not sure about the whole Mutant animal mential powers bit, because in this setting it's the timeframe of the War of the Roses but on the Earth and North America there is about Seven to Nine Animal kingdoms out there each with there own ruler, this setting isn't like Redwell a playful romp in the Middle Ages more like George R Martian's work.

Isn't this in a Rifter or a Rifts World book already...a Wolfen Roman esque society? I'm just about 99% sure I remember reading this.

I love George RR Martin.

Yes but I think that an Inherit the Earth like inspired setting would make for interesting RPG series at least, also the Human tech that is left behind could be retro raygun tech like in Fallout series I think that would mess very well with the Middle Ages for Furry racial tribes and empires.

But I don't do one shot RPG books,

Actually, the term "Furry" is appropriate in some cases.

Yes it would high middle ages that would be the setting for this future earth were Furry races replace Humans on Earth, and the PC game itself which I base this world on is very good too bad that they didn't make any more in the series.

So what Palladium books should I use and would this company be interested in a RPG like this?,
