It's not come up in my games, but I would think that as a higher level spell and not one that can be just fired off, the psychic would possibly (depending on his/her vantage point) spot a casting in progress and could further restrain the caster, which makes his/her life more difficult.
Assuming the mage gets the spell off, possibly get the psionic to save vs magic or perhaps ask for a contested ME roll?
Maybe the mage would be better spending his/her PPE on other spells first targeted at the psychic that would district long enough to allow the mage to fly away, a fire bolt or two maybe.
Tricky one and I'm away from my books!

Re: Fly as an Eagle vs Telekinesis?
While the Spell would not be able to break the hold of SupTK., it would be able to negate getting moved by STK. So while the mage would be captured by the STK, the PSI would not be able to be limited to holding the mage where the mage was.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.

Thanks in advance for any responses
You can't break a telekinetic grip like that unless you make a strength roll against his telekinetic strength roll.

Re: Fly as an Eagle vs Telekinesis?
I say it happens.
Telekenisis is not a force field, nor is it an invisible hand.
No version of the power allows or provides for direct damage. You have to hurl a target at another target to do any damage. You cannot squeeze, no provision is made in its description, and we can presume that also means that that it is inneffective at restraint.
No provision for disarm implies I cannot oppose even normal mortal strength with the power. If I cannot yank a gun out of your hand, then I probably cannot stop you from firing at me with the gun either, even if I have you suspended in the air. On a related subject, as I need to see my target clearly to affect it, how do I keep a clear view of you while I'm dodging your bullets.
In short, if you can fly, by whatever means, I'm of the opinion that you can escape the worst effects of TK. Not to say I still cannot hurl you around, but I am unrealistic in the expectation of holding you still.

in my games magic trumps psionics, but specifically in this case, I would still rule in favore of the spell. Magic warps reality, psionics are just unknown rules of reality.
Fly as the Eagle ignores physics or kinetic energy. You can stop on a dime without having to slow down, there is no kinetic action in play, which would negate any external influence.

The entire experiment may ultimately not work. But as Tiger Woods tears into the springbok, his mouth crimson with blood, he looks to have all the makings of a natural-born killer.
