About how they changed , got nerfed or lost, over time. I was re-reading HU revised, and noticed how some psionic powers got toned down, or simply disappered, in later palladium books(HU2nd, RIfts, RUE, Nigthbane, etc. etc.). I just find curious and puzzled why? I'm starting to think that kevin hate psionics
Here list of the guitly ones:
Hydrokinesis: lost most of water contorl power, now is limited to water spout and boiling water. I wish they at least kept the create water power, as all kinesis power ,except telekinesis seem to do that (why pyro and electro yes but hydro not?)
Telepathy: lost the deep probe and got toned down to mere sensitive power , worst can make two way communication only with another telepath and can use telepathy only on one person at times(this is the nerfing i did not understoo. It was not overpowered or else. )
Object REad: Lost the ability to spend additional ISP to increase your chance of success
Ectoplasmic Arm: Why was lost? I repeat, WHY? (I admit since i saw Elfen Lied I started developing strange love for this old power)
Mind Control: Let's admit it Hypnotic suggestion is the poor's version of this power. I always foudn odd is missing, as it is the power that come's to one mind when first thinking about psionics. And yet was removed form existance without much remorse.
Just curious to hear opinion.

Hydrokinesis -- I use the version from Heroes Unlimited "Revised", where you can summon fog. Hey it's either that or summon a Sladka from Dark Conversions
That AD&D 2e Complete Psionics Handbook and the Dark Sun: The Will and the Way, give me oodles of psi-stuff when your mind melter becomes just like every other mind melter out there.
Rifter #25 has some very nice options and new PCCs and powers in the Enthralled article.
We also created Psionics Unlimited which gave us a bunch of fan-created powers. You decide what's good and what's not.
If a Mystic can use his psionics to cast magic, why can't he choose a super-psi power instead of a spell (especially a very powerful spell) at every level ? Or every other level ?

Oh I know all of that. I was just curious about how Psionics are the cinderella of Palladium books. Even in Rifts Earth they are the ones who enjoy the lesser "pumping" from Ley Line and Nexus. I mean they got only increased range and damage, but they still recover IPS as usual , while mage can reload their bullets in brief times. In main military battles, a Psionic risk to run out of fuel pretty soon. Also before RUE they got very few Megadamage worthy attacks(please don't let me talk about Mind Bolt 2d4 Megadamage for 40 ISP , even for original Rifts Main book is simply insanely high!!). I mean is not that they coudl say "we are afraid it could get too powerfull" Compared to what? Anti-matter shooting wizard? Elemental Fire Wolf Riding Warlocks? gunslingers Technowizard?...Sorry I lost a tad of my self control
