Starting my first game

Unread post by tomiecat23 »

well 2nd. my first was a crash and burn on my part and the rules of that game where wonky.
anyway
I'm going to start a space based game, and after playing dead space, I wanted to base it off something like that. or Event horizen. kinda survival horror. Any helpful ideas? I'm planing some planet side things as well but The start is ina Military searching for there lost ship. I told the players i wanted to keep this to sdc based OOC's and so far i have a Enthraler, and Operator the last 2 players needed more time to think. "hope someone picks a solder of some sort"

any ideas on how to help out my idea or theme would be great.

thx
Tom

The Military compound find a cave and awake a demon. That demon mind controls soldiers and staff to kill themselves or each others in horrendous ways. Players must find the demon before he bend their own will. Investigation of the cave foreshadow the demon and reveals that the cave is in fact some sort of ancient dimensional prison made by a lost civilization who died in a mass suicide inside the prison*.

Hope this helps.

yes it does thank you.

so far I got them starting on in UGF "united galaxy federation" fresh out of camp. witha enlistment bonus of 2000 creds and a small service package "gear". I'm working out some items for my game and will post them after they find them. I'm un aware if they browse the boards so will post as they find them. or if the game doesn't take off.

Have you read the Rifts Game Master Guide and the Adventure Guide? They are both excellent books with lots of great ideas for new GMs. Heck, after 30 years of GMing, I still find interesting tidbits in those books.

Never let wonky rules get in the way of your game. If it works, use it. If it doesn't, make something up and keep the gameplay moving as fast and furious as you can.
