That was the first game we did and to tell the truth it was more fun for me as G.M. and for my groop had to change there starting equment a little but much more fun and the pace was a lot faster.

I am running a game right now where the PC's are either mercs or normal people that are caught in an isolated outbreak in the Yucatan. For the first 1/2 of the game, they didn't even know they were fighting zombies. They've had to deal with the grim realization - especially after members of the party were "turned".

When (if) they get back stateside, they'll have a rude awakening... the apocalypse is happening elsewhere too.

you can see my other post if u want, but I started my game on the day before Zday and I just made Zday the actual date we started gaming it. so, cell phones and stuff still worked for a bit, but things got bad fast. Like someone else said, it was more fast paced as half my party started to work at 5 am not even realizing anything was wrong until they hit the city limits! Muahahahahaha...

As I said in an other post I am a huge fan of the Zombie movie genre.

Has anyone tried to run a Dead Reign game where the zombie plague has just started? First only those who are recently dead or in morgues get up and do thier thing...

...as those get up and kill the living (feeding on the released P.P.E.) voila - you have a increasing zombie plague!!!

Started the group in an Amusement Park.
characters:
- Former CIA Assassin turned freelance (PC)
- Extreme Skateboarder / teenager (PC)
- Cop/Sheriff with a bad attitude (PC)
- Ex-Army/now Steel mill worker (NPC)

my first dead reign campain started on Z day, the player played thier pc as themselves down to the job they had, one person got bored and got everyone killed

YES! This was the premise of my First DR campaign, based on Rifter 40.

The player group made RPG versions of themselves, with their RL skills translated into game terms.
The group started out having lunch at MGM studios in Disney World (we all live close IRL) when the Wave struck and the first goal was: Survive your way out of the Parks!!!
Long story short, they did, and have taken refuge on a small island river in the Central Florida Waterway.
