A Survivor's Journal...

You are on your own. The Army is MIA and our government is gone! There are no communications of any kind. Cities and towns have gone dark, and zombies fill the streets. The dead have risen and it would seem to be the end of the world. Help me, Mommy!

Just emailing wayne isnt going to do a lick of good.
you need to follow the rifter submission rules and the unsolicited manuscript form

We'll enjoy it here. I'm sure you can keep it up for us for now. You could always PM Kevin. He'll answer your email as time allows.

See?! The sarge should have been put out to pasture with a bullet! Now you got an infected that could at any time break out of there. :frust: :frazz:

Glad the other survivors decided not to lynch McAuliffe as he did keep vital info from them, though i can honestly say i might not have been as forgiving though, especially with the fact that the sarge is now a danger to them all. :x

He's out. And on the loose. I went to check on Sgt. Miller again this morning to make sure that he was still locked up, and he's gone. The door to the security room was completely destroyed, and a slight trail of watery slime led away from the baggage area towards the front of the terminal.

I told you so, just doesn't quite say how i feel right now...... :badbad: :frust: :frazz:

At this point i think i would have or be plotting to dispose of McAuliffe as the sarge being loose is HIS FAULT!!!! :x

I am thoroughly enjoying this story as it unravels.
I would like to see longer posts/entries.

If I don't leave some loose ends, then I've got nowhere to go with the story.

Understandable, though i feel there are other things that could have happened, but it's your story (which is still good btw :ok: ) I just disagree with McAuliffe's recent decisions.

Looking forward to how he deals with his current situation.

Excellent additions. Just one thing they might know is that both Racine and Kenosha, WI both have sheltered harbors. I know because I live right here in the area. And I know there are a lot of boats in either one. Although Racine has a Drawbridge on Main Street and one on State street which might have to be raised to get the boats out. Racine and Kenosha are both fairly close to MIlwaukee via the lake. Please keep them coming!

Journal Entry - Peter McAuliffe

Our trip to Duluth has met with a little....complication. And that's putting it lightly. We set off east, sailing towards St. Ignace/Mackinaw City, and things were going fine. The weather was good, we were in good spirits, and it seemed like we were making good time. The only thing I was afraid of was sailing underneath the bridge that connects Upper and Lower Michigan, and man do I hate being right.

We got a few hundred feet from the bridge, and at first we didn't see anything. We all decided to stay "indoors" in the cabin so as not to attract the attention of any potential zombies that may be on the bridge, but that didn't work. As soon as we got within 50 feet of the bridge we heard the unmistakable moaning of zombies who had been alerted to our presence. How could they even see us in the boat? We weren't walking around, and we weren't making a whole lot of noise. Some days I wonder just how "intelligent" these things are. How could they have known that a boat floating in the water could hold some people in it?

Anyhow, we had no choice but to try to speed through under the bridge. It was either that or turn around. Rock/paper/scissors between me and David (2 out of 3) showed us that we were going under the bridge. Bad idea. As soon as we got under the bridge, the zombies decided to see if they could fly. Out of seemingly nowhere, 5 or 6 zombies decided to launch themselves off the bridge at our boat. 3 of them completely missed, and are now fish food. 1 of them hit the side of the boat on its way down, and did some serious damage to not only himself but to the boat as well. 1 of them hit the back of the boat square, and went straight through it. The last one landed almost on top of the cabin, and went almost through the whole boat.

We realized that we were going to have to make our way to shore. The boat was sinking - fast - and we had no idea how many other zombies were going to try diving at us. We had a small life raft on the boat, and it was one of those instant-inflatable ones where you pull the string and it inflates. We inflated the thing and jumped in it, paddling feverishly towards shore. Thankfully, when we got to shore on the other side of the bridge, there were no more zombies waiting for us. However, we weren't going to wait around for the welcoming committee to show up and invite us to dinner.

We made our way through what I am guessing is a campground/park area, and are now holed up in a house a few hundred yards from the Lake Michigan shoreline. We have barricaded the entire house - boarded up windows and doors, sealed all entrances as best as we could. We've got food and water in the house, but we're pretty trapped. We're going to have to find a way to get out of here, and try to make it somewhere safer.

As you can probably guess, the rest of the survivors are a little irritated with me. It was my idea to make for Duluth to help the other survivors (if there are any), so it's naturally my fault that this happened. It's not my fault, but I'll take the heat for it. I am only trying to do what I think is right not for myself but for the sake of the human race. We might become extinct thanks to the outbreak, but I'll be damned if I let that happen while I can still try to help others.

There is a truck in the garage of this house, and it just so happens that it's one of the original H-1 Hummers. Oh yeah. If we can find the keys, I'll try to talk the others into making a break for it in the thing to safer grounds. Which, I'm guessing, means heading farther north. I'm thinking that the harsh winter somewhere around the arctic circle might kill off any zombies that are alive up there, and might give us a safe area with which to try and rebuild. We won't be able to help anyone in Duluth (if anyone is still there). I'm so sorry that I cannot help you...
:frust:

If by some strange, magical happenstance the PCs of this world EVER make here to the Real World and find out that you've been putting them through hell all because of some rolls of the dice, they're gonna have a nice long talk with you in a basement somewhere with a baseball bat, some wire pliers, and liberal quantities of Battery acid...... :demon:

I'm pretty sure there are. They just haven't thought about that since finding the train. And assuming they can get it fired up and moving, they probably won't. We'll see what the dice say tonight. About the train, the hummer, and.... ooops! Almost let it spill!

As he sets us up for yet ANOTHER Friday cliffhanger! :P :frust:

Another excellent addition! I can't wait to see the next entry of this story.
"Your Grace," she said, "I have only one question. Do you wish this man crippled or dead?"

"My Lady," the protector of Grayson told his Champion, "I do not wish him to leave this chamber alive."

"As you will it, your Grace."

KNEW that Marcus would screw things up SOMEHOW!!!!! :nh: :frust:

Now once again the sarge is all by his lonesome, no female companionship AGAIN! :frust:

At this rate i think he's just going to go nuts due to survivor's guilt as everyone keeps dying all around him. :-x

Nice addition! Too bad about Rebecca! I didn't really care for Marcus. Hopefully Pete will be able to link up with more survivors. Please keep it coming!

According to Leon's dice, I would be willing to bet that dear old Pete will have to stop! :D

What? Would my dice really do that? No, that's not possible!
