Do you remember your first stint at GMing?

I don't, but I am pretty sure it was with CP2020, and running the adventures out of the back of the book
The entire experiment may ultimately not work. But as Tiger Woods tears into the springbok, his mouth crimson with blood, he looks to have all the makings of a natural-born killer.

I do. It was a RECON mission. The team was to recon an area to be used as site for a firebase on top of a hill that had been checked out from the air but not checked out from the ground. The unit never made it to the LZ though as their chopper was shot down and were fighting their way to another LZ to dust off the wounded when the session ended and sadly so did the game. It was only supposed to be a one-off adventure though and however far they got, that's how far they got. It was quite a lot of fun. I got to GM several Systems Failures sessions, too.

Rifts (this was my first stint running a Palladium game, not at GMing though).

I created a small town in the New West, as a sort of "small-time crooks/mercs" kinda theme. The place was near-straight out of a Clint Eastwood flick. My buddy was playing a mind-melter, and since the first session it was only him and I (everyone else bailed that day), he decided to see if he could sneak up and spy on some bandits that had been causing trouble in the area. He had to flee in a hurry though as one caught sight of "her" (character was a woman, player a man) and started taking pot-shots at him.

We both learned some important lessions that day; not every enemy you face needs to be epic in scope, they only need the sun in your eyes and a good hiding place with a laser-rifle to put the boots to you.

I cut my RPG on D&D like a lot of others I know. My first Palladium game was TMNT, and it was based on the group being amongst a bunch of mutant experiment animals that escaped the lab and were under constant threat of being caught and sent back to the lab. Not the most original in retrospect, but it was fun for all. :)

I took over as GM on a Rifts campaign at the request of the gaming group. It was only the one session and I realized I wanted something else to GM, so I went out and got the Heroes Unlimited 2nd edition core rulebook and started a new campaign with that. I allowed one player to convert a Rifts character to HU and realized that did not work with my style of play since they wanted to just kill everything with their juicer ninja.

To be fair, if he did it book legal, then he'd likely just want to kill everything in sight with his invulnerable superstrong mutant :p

I was playing 2nd edition D&D in college when the DM up and graduated, leaving the group in need of a new DM. I had the 3.5 books, so I made everyone in the group create new characters but had the story continue where the former DM left off. I later transitioned to Palladium Fantasy when I was invited to join a Heroes Unlimited group and we kind of mix the two sometimes as co-GMs.

that's odd, that was my first stint at GMing a game too

My first stint as a GM was Dragonlance.. So it was pretty easy. Although I didn't really take into consideration reality. As in the Draconians in the next room should have heard the fighting but failed to do anything about it.

So yeah I've come a long way.. But then again I was like 10.

Mine was DC heroes we were at my buddies dorm room and he usually ran the game, but due to a paper he had to write we were all together w/ nothing to do, and I stepped up and said I got an idea. Thankfully I had made some characters that never were played, and the fun ensued we had a great one shot adventure. Unfortunately no one remembers anything other than a fun evening in 92.

Like Falconi, mine was D&D Basic. I started off in middle school during a mini-course called
Tactical and Strategic Games. Ms. Strange the teacher (yes her last name was strange) called
it that so partents wouldn't freak out that kids were playing D&D in school. I also remember
being confused between D&D basic and Advance Dungeon and Dragons.

Ya, I threw a bunch of 5th level characters into a dungeon inhabited by Baphomet and 12 minotaurs (1st edition AD&D).
The PCs all died.
