Only a natural 20 can beat another natural 20, regardless of bonuses. Tied rolls (ie if both attacker and defender roll a natural 20) go to the defender.

and in case you're thinking that autododge means it automatically succeeds, it doesn't. it just automatically happens so does not use an attack to perform.

I dont play either of those rules. I simple roll to strike, add bonuses and regardless of the natural twenty, the only way to dodge or parry is a higher roll+bonuses.
So if (in my game) your strike has rolled 40 (nat 20+20) then the parrier needs 40+ to defend - so they should be running!
I may play test some of the above rules and see if I like them though.

Well of course. If it automatically succeeded, it wouldn't need a bonus
