Just let the player be. Most of the group has already gotten their dip. So don't worry about it.
Besides, the high magus already has, will have powers as they level up.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.
Reading and writing (literacy) is how people on BBS interact.

Don't railroad your player. She's making a choice and fighting hard to keep it, and it will be a very rewarding and memorable experience for her to succeed here. Under no condition should you change your metaplot just to screw her over and toss her in the vat - that's a GM power play of the worst order. If the metaplot doesn't already have something that deals with this without being modified "just to get her", let it ride, and proceed as the players have made it happen. Remember, a GM's goals are not what is important in a game, the player's goals are.

Additionally, pulling this off should net her a bunch of XP. Defeating a Great Menace for example (defeat doesn't always entail killing!), Quick Thinking, Playing in Character Bonus, and maybe more.

Rifter6 wrote:Thanks Munchkin, that's how I 'read' it in RUE too, but for some reason in all groups I've played with, we've always treated Invisibility Superior as a form outside even beings who normally see the invisible's ability to detect.

And I've played with all sorts of guys far more experienced and knowledgeable on Rifts than I. Curious where that idea could have come from. Perhaps it was a house rule that just got adopted as cannon at some point.

But, after reading the reference, it's certainly very clear. Thanks!

It might be new to RUE.

Actually I remember bringing this up on the forums pre-RUE and there was some debate about it, although the consensus was that See the Invisible sees all invisible things regardless of the spell. Then the clarification appeared in RUE and I always wondered whether that was because I brought it up.

The way we used to play it was to make a new spell See the Invisible: Superior that was one level lower than Invisibility: Superior and cost 10-15 PPE I think. I also think that I assumed that Gods and Greater Demons would have that power naturally.

If you want you could say that such a spell does exist but only very powerful magic beings know it, for example if anyone would know a spell like that it would be Lord Diabolus!

Also I don't think this is railroading, if Lord Diabolus wants these characters in his bio-vats it will be very hard for them to avoid. I certainly don't think that casting invis superior should allow you to just walk past a Demon God.
The word "THAN" is important. Something is "better than" something else, not "better then", it's "rather than" not "rather then".

Technically, Invisibility Superior says that if they have see the invisible, they only see a hazy/blurry image and are still -2 to strike.

But they CAN see you.

RUE p203 Notes that See the Invisible can see I:S and there's always the option of anti-magic if you don't like the note from p203.
What a cruel thing is war: to separate and destroy families and friends, and mar the purest joys and happiness God has granted us in this world; to fill our hearts with hatred instead of love for our neighbors, and to devastate the fair face of this beautiful world. - R E Lee
