Wow. Very extensive review there. I remember this flick.
Zombie flicks? They are what they are. I go in there hoping to be entertained. I cheer for the cool parts and try not to groan too much at the bad parts. But bad parts in zombie flicks are a given. But that's okay, I like 'em anyway.
And I don't mind actors coming back to play different roles. Guess all those Sergio Leone films got me used to that. He would have Lee Van Cleef play a bad guy in one flick and a good guy in the next.
Thank you for sharing.

Those are some of the reasons this bad idea went directly to DVD- the original plan was a theatrical release. The movie had bad vibes from day one- they actually had to reshoot almost the entire film because when the original print was shown to test audiences, they trashed it worse then a Uwe Boll film!
The final nail for me was their "reimagining" of Bud. In the original.. Bud is just a zombie that remembers snatches of life and is able to control his hunger, even show emotion. The new one, they explain his passivity because he was a vegetarian in life. REALLY?? A VEGETARIAN??? Give me a Break!!! I'l give you the super-fast transformation and the genius zombie.. but that's it.
And I have to agree with you the "wall-crawlers"- though I do like the visual of all the zeds crashing through the windows 3-4 stories up to get to the humans below.
Horrible remakes like this are why I am really unsure of the remake of "The Crazies", Romero's other great "zombie" flick.

Worse then a Uwe Boll film? IS that possible? But still, I pass on Day of the Dead.
They can't see me...Right!?

The Day of the Dead remake was one of the worst zombie movies I have ever seen. And I have seen lots of bad zombie movies. It made Zombie 5 look like a masterpiece.

Ahhhhhh! A zombie thread on the zombie board!!!!
"The impossibility of the world lies in the fact that it has no equivalent anywhere;it cannot be exchanged for anything. The uncertainty of thought lies in the fact that it cannot be exchanged either for truth or for reality. Is it thought which tips the world over into uncertainty, or the other way around? This in itself is part of the uncertainty." - J. Baudrillard
