Have them hired to raze a town/community to the ground thats predominently women and children. Certainly there may be enemy soldiers living/hiding in the group, but they are in a severe minority. But their employers wont care about this and demand a "scortched Earth" resolution.

Do the players do their job? will they try to get the women and children out of the town before they destroy it? Even if they do, what do they do with the 100-200 refugees they just rescued?

Think along these kind of lines.

Also, try to play on their alignments when the players give into the pressure as it were... they may say outloud "Its just business" as they aim their rifle at the women and children... but can they really do this?

Even as their hard as nails Sargent is shouting in their ear "BLOW THEM AWAY BOY! THAT CHILD YER WHINING BOUT SHOOTING... HE'LL ONLY GROW UP TO AIM A RIFLE BACK AT YOU SOMEDAY! AND HIS MOM... SHE'LL ONLY PUNCH OUT A FEW MORE TO GROW UP AND GUN YOU DOWN AS WELL...THEY AINT INNOCENT SOLDIER!!"

Can they truly shoot them down in cold blood like that?

Oh yeah... and lastly, those who do start going down that dark spiral... make them live with the consequences... reoccouring nightmares, being accepted amongst the heartless/evil soldiers who ENJOY their "work" and the added benefits like raping and pilaging... if its moral issues you want to face, they need to face some dispicable things that are usually taboo subjects.

Make sure you and your players are able to deal with such subjects as ive run into plenty who cant.

So true, if they can't it will destroy your game!
