Some out-of-town gaming buddies that I grew up playing many RPGs with, including TMNT, are coming to visit, and I was thinking of surprising them with a one-shot of some TMNT for a dose of nostalgia. We played it a lot back in the day, at least until the kids cartoons hurt the property, and have fond memories of it. I still smile when retelling old stories of the Red Racer Snake I had with a water fetish.
I hauled the old books off the shelf and started perusing and am trying to come up with a neat one-shot idea for 4-6 hours of gaming. So far, one idea I have is to borrow from an artist I know who developed a Mutants & Masterminds concept and comic called the World Wildlife Federation of Justice (which is actually really cool...), and tweak that for TMNT, but that is also a little more "super-hero-y" than I'm looking for in a TMNT game. Figured I'd look to the forum for some further inspiration. We didn't really play a ton of After The Bomb, but I'm not ruling it out as an option. I'm just looking for a spark to trigger an idea.

Re: Looking For Inspiration For A Nostalgia One-Shot
TMNT for my group typically centered around stumbling on some plot by some baddy to do something evil and nasty. tracking down, investigating and making enough noise in the final showdown to attract the cops to clean up after the group makes an exit into the shadows. Hey maybe they can uncover and fight a large terrorist cell, or gang with new manpower/tech, or evil scientist with super-tech, or government conspiracy, or alien conquerers, or a corrupt aid organization kidnapping kids for nefarious reasons, or... really I could go on all night, but you shoud get the idea.
