Re: favorite style of zombie kill
I can't answer the poll accurately as I can only select 1 option.
For me, it depends on the campaign, who the other players are, and who the GM is. Sometimes I like to be the bug, and other times I like to be the exterminator.

I voted to make a mess of the Zeds.
Kill as many as possible with your dying breath.

The uncertainty of thought lies in the fact that it cannot be exchanged either for truth or for reality. Is it thought which tips the world over into uncertainty, or the other way around? This in itself is part of the uncertainty." - J. Baudrillard

so are you saying that you have no preference? if so i guess the i like ice cream option would fit best.
It's not that I have no preference. Sometimes I like to chase, and sometimes I like to be chased. Re-read my post - it depends on who I'm gaming with and what the campaign is all about. That doesn't mean I don't have a preference - it means I need to know a whole lot more information about the current situation before I can answer this question.
And I do like ice cream. Vanilla, with chocolate sauce, please.
Re: favorite style of zombie kill
Even if I were running away, I would be killing as many as I can. Every one that I kill means one more that someone else doesn't have to deal with. Except for the fast zombies. I'd rather shove a pencil in my eye so I can sit in the ER, holding it very steady while contemplating what I'm going to look like with a jaunty eye patch.
I like icecream. Vanilla or strawberry.

Glitterboy Pilot wrote:The question is not which one would you play. That would be determined by who the other players are as well as the gm and the basic plot.
The question is simply which way you prefer to play.
Glitterboy Pilot wrote:So do you prefer to play as the food running away or as the killers exterminating the zombies?
Seems to me like the question is which one would you play. I get that you are asking for preference, but it still goes back to which one you would play. I mean, you wouldn't play in a game that you didn't like or prefer, would you?
Glitterboy Pilot wrote:That would be your opinion of whether you prefer a more dawn of the dead/night of the living dead feel to the game or more of a land of the dead/ zombieland type game. If your decision to play either scenario is determined by someone else you are neutral on the subject.
I think I've stated that I am not neutral on the subject, but rather need more information in order to make a decision on this. It's like being asked "Do you like ice cream". What flavor? How many scoops? Cone or cup? From where? Even if you answer the question, you more than likely give back more information than the question asked for. "Yes, I like a single scoop of rocky road in a waffle cone from Culvers".
Glitterboy Pilot wrote:Neutrality denotes lack of preference.
Not all the time. In this case, it denotes a lack of information, which I have stated over and over again that I need to make a decision.
Glitterboy Pilot wrote:If this is the case you like or dislike both options equally. Since you play this game and/or visit this section of the boards I am going to assume you like this game rather than dislike it.
While you are correct that I like both options equally, I can't say which one I'd rather play without more information.
Glitterboy Pilot wrote:This is an opinion question not a true or false question. Opinions are determined by each person and do not require input from an outside source. If you have an preference on something you can't straddle the fence. You feel one way or the other about the subject.
I agreed with you up until your statement about straddling the fence. Everybody stands in the middle on every topic until they know enough about the topic to make an informed decision.
Glitterboy Pilot wrote:It would be the same as me asking do you prefer steak or seafood. If your answer is dependent on how the food is prepared you don't actually have a preference to the food so much as how it is cooked.
Again, not true.
Glitterboy Pilot wrote:The only time someone requires information to answer an opinion question is when the person has not formed an opinion on the subject.
So, you start by saying that I have an opinion but no preference, and then finish by saying I haven't formed an opinion because I want more information. Which is it?
Just because I want more information doesn't mean that I have no preference or haven't formed an opinion. I just need more details before I can answer. If it's a campaign where we are running for our lives the entire time with no hope of ever escaping cuz the GM is just jerking us around, then I'm not going to prefer that campaign. If it's a campaign where we are armed to the teeth and we are just power gaming to kill zombies, then I'm not going to prefer that either. But you haven't given enough details for me to say which campaign I'd prefer. The only information you're giving me is "either run for your life or kill zeds".
Re: favorite style of zombie kill
Have no preference, sometimes your the statue the bird poops on and sometimes your the bird.
Just being one all the time seems like a very boring game to me.

Re: favorite style of zombie kill
Um, why are you after GB Pilot, but quoting me?
And as I said, whether it is a running or fighting type of campaign/adventure, any opportunity to take out Zeds I will take, because every one I kill means that someone else doesn't have to deal with them.
I prefer to fight while running, fighting a mobile war. This doesn't mean I'll take stupid risks, or needlessly endanger my group. If we have to go for stealth at times, I can do that easily, but if I can cut loose, I will... though I'll be smart about it.

I'm not quoting you. At least, I can't see where I am quoting you. Point it out to me and I'll take a look at where I am screwing up.
