Energy weapons versus AR
Came across this in our Nightspawn/HU/Skraypers game last night.
GM ruling was AR is irrelevant against energy weapons they will always damage the armour first before punching through to the person inside...
Is this right or no?

I am very opinionated. Yes I rub people the wrong way but at the end of the day I just enjoy good hard discussion and will gladly walk away agreeing to not agree

Well, The GM can make that houserule yes, however it is not true according to the rules of the books and has no basis in canon.

I know he can make that house rule but he made that call based on his understanding that there is no rule about whether or not energy weapons penetrate armour.

Energy weapons have a PV of 5 - 7, this is found in the HUGMG I think.

Is this right or no?
Rule #1 of RPGs: "The GM is always right in his game."
Rule #2 of RPGs: "If the GM is not not right as per the canon, see rule #1."
------------
canon answer
Unless the armor has a Natural AR or Robotic AR, then a roll over the AR of the armor hits the person inside.
May you be blessed with the ability to change course when you are off the mark.
Each question should be give the canon answer 1st, then you can proclaim your house rules.

Agreed however he was going off of there being no ruling on what energy weapons do to armour at all. If shown evidecne that they are treated the same as regular guns he woudl likely change his ruling for the next session. It wasn;t evne me makng an issue of it since my characters aren't much in teh way of of gun users. Once hacks computers and does the hulk smash routine while the others casts spells

See the canon answer I posted.
P.S. When talking about AR there is no difference of how to handle energy weapons and kinetic weapons and hand & feet. This is so because the books never says they are different.

Don't worry too much, much of the time people here miss things when I type up multiple answers in one post.

Enviably they do not respond to the parts of my posts I'm interested in getting a response too, and respond to parts that I could almost care less about.
