alright I have got one for you all.
there are three options when your character is getting shot at.
Dodge you get a -10 at point blank or -5 within 50'
Parry only if your character is a Cyber-Knight, Juicer, or Samurai with varied penalties
Entangle if you are close enough and I have seen no penalty to entangle vs. Bullets&Energy Blasts
As I see it Entangle is the way to go when your character is within 10' of the gun and here is why.
no penalty and many HTH get a bonus to Entangle. So no negative but I get a bonus, on top of it I see Entangle as a PP skill and it should get the PP bonus.
then the opponent has to roll a dodge to get out of the entangle forcing them to forfeit their next attack and possibly giving your character the advantage and the next attack.
guy shoots at character (1 attack)
my character beats the attack roll and entangles (1 attack)
Guy rolls dodge to get out of entangle (2 attack)
My character punches/shoots/stabs guy (2 attack)
Guy can entangle/parry/dodge
let me know what you think
Thanks

The other guy dosn't get to "Dodge" the entangle. if you roll higher than their attack, then it's automatically entangled: you only can dodge if you use it as your attack.

Re: Gunfire/Energy Blast vs. Entangle, Parry, Dodge
the rules state the the way out of the entangle is a dodge that beats the entangle roll.
what do you think about a negative for entangle vs energy/gunfire?

I've just been reading up on this myself. Question, where do you see bonuses for Entangle? I didn't notice any in RUE. I was thinking it may just use regular HtH strike.

Hand to Hand Martial Arts has a bonus to Entangle at level 5. also some weapons like W.P. Chain have a bonus.

...as does W.P. Whip
I gave my wife 5 rules for decorating our place: No Bows, No Pink, No Flowers, No Birds, and No Unicorns.
I later found out Unicorns are Mega Damage.
Now there are 4 rules.
