Player's Goal

Unread post by Aaryq »

Howdy, folks.
Once I start playing PFRPG again, I have a goal...I'm working on a character now. I haven't fully decided on what he will be, but he will be of noble birth (lesser nobility) and either a Priest, Mercenary, Soldier, Noble, Knight, or Paladin. He is from the Eastern Territory, of the handsome races (I would LOVE to play an elf, but they're so far overplayed in my experience) and all of his profits go to some kind of secure source like a bank or something to buy himself a plot of land and a keep. I looked through Weapons Armour and Castles and didn't really find what I was looking for. Any other good sources for a a small Castle/Keep? I'm basically looking for a tower with a wall around it and a gate. Everything else can be the fixer-upper part (like the roads and whatnot). The desired end state is to retire from adventuring, move to the keep, watch a city grow up around it and rule as the benevolent lord. Anyone have similar goals? Any advice for me on this guy? Any interesting character flaws I should put in for good role play?
There should be a specific sub-forum of the Rifts forum dedicated to the only hope for salvation of the human race, the Coalition States.

You can find some castle lay outs in World book 12, Library of Bletherad
“Illinois Nazis, I hate Illinois Nazis”
“Ummm boB isn’t that a Coalition squad?"
“Like I said, Illinois Nazi’s…….”

Just to assist the GM (whenever I get one), would you know of any prices for raw materials and rates for labourers, engineers, specialists? I'm thinking of having one built from the ground up, it could make for some good roleplay. I envision returning from a dungeon crawl, finding a dwarf in the local classifieds scroll to serve as the job foreman , going over to Castle Depot with my wagon, buying some stone blocks, mortar, tools, and hiring a few orcs sitting out front waiting for a job.

All I really want is a simple tower and a wall. Everything else will be after the fact when I retire.

Yes, I do have a thought...Old Ones, type 3 fort. Description start on page 130, photos of the first 2 floors are on page 132. As for suggestions, yes. Instead of putting it in a bank, invest in shipments of silk and the like. As soon as you have the land fort built, get some refugees from a war,
Ankh, udja, seneb.
