A bit of good news

Unread post by Kevin »

I received semi-good news about my Dad this morning.

Without going into too much detail, the doctors feared there was an abscess or infection in my father’s bowels or stomach, and that surgery would be required. Considering his advanced age (80 years old in December) and the fact he has not completely recovered from his last surgery, the idea of opening him back up was not welcomed and considerably dangerous for him.

Good news. Test results suggest that my Dad’s inner workings are fine, and that the problem is pneumonia. Not great news, but much better and treatable without surgery. Whew. If all goes well we should start to see improvement by tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

Thank you for caring about my father and me, as well as the company. With everything going on with my Dad, the lawsuit, the economy and the running of the business (let alone being creative), these past several months have been a crazy whirlwind. I was told three times today that medical situations like my Dad’s is harder on the family than on the patient, in that, he’s not likely to remember most of it. I hope so. The fact that three different people told me that this morning suggests I must look as worn out as I feel.

To the many Palladium fans, I appreciate your warm words, prayers, support and kindness. They mean a lot to me. To all of us. Thank you.

Halloween Respite. In between running back and forth to the hospital, I’m helping Kathy Simmons with an outdoor sale of her ghouls this weekend. Her display looks great and I know she sold two items this morning. I hope she has a great weekend of sales.

Meanwhile, I can hardly wait till Heroes of the Megaverse® ships on Monday, because I think you’ll enjoy it very much. Alex loves it and can't stop raving about it. Julius thinks it's fantastic. I'm very pleased with it.

Oh, and I woke up with ideas for Rifts® Vampire Kingdoms today. That storytelling brain of mine just keeps ticking, eh? Surprises even me some days. I guess that’s a good thing. :)

Sincerely,
Kevin Siembieda
