there is no Leather to iron convertions spell in the books T.I.K.O.
You could probibly make a varient of the IronWood spell that ups the SDC and AR of leather. If you do please post in the invented Spells topic.
I be currently is behind in sleep so I won't be even thinking about it for at least a few days.

If you have it...check Rifter #42. It has was to make leather M.D.C., but not specifically spells.

As far as I know, the only class that could do the Iron Leather armor improvement were Alchemists, but don't quote me on that. As for spell, there really is none. The more that I play Rifts, the more I realize that their magic system is nothing like Dungeons & Dragons 3.x, which I am glad for. You don't just take a feat or ability that lets you make magic items as long as you have the proper spells and enough XP to blow (I have always despised that aspect of D&D, and that is what I grew up playing for the most part!). They made making magical items far more rare by pretty much allowing only on class doing it, and that's after they achieve several levels of several other classes. As for Rifts Earth, the only people that I can think of that can do something similar are the Mystic Kuznia (I think that's how it spells, their from Russia is all I can remember). Now if all he is wanting is MD Leather armor, then he has all the right skills (he should probably take penalties for working with tougher/alien hide), but all he needs to do is either kill a creature with MD hide or skin (Dinosaurs, Demons, Dragons, etc.), or buy it from someone/hire someone to kill it for him. He doesn't even need to know how to use energy weapons as long as he has the Archery Skill (MD Arrows are a wonderful thing), or even the NG Super Crossbow IIRC.

Leather of iron is a magic item in palladium fantasy. Its a leather armor set with ridiculous amounts of sdc. After rings of fleet feet, that was always the next item on my groups list after cashing out their latest treasure haul.

Dr. Hellstromme wrote:An idea: there are "Bone to Stone"(?) necromantic spells in Mystic Russia. Maybe Leather to Iron is another version of those. It can only be used right after you killed and skinned a creature, to turn its skin to MDC armor.

Reminds me of a wicked combo: petrification, stone to mud, dispell the petrification.
