Howdy, folks.
I decided not to make a poll for this one. After reflecting on those 15 years of gaming, I've had quite a few different people that I've gamed with.
There's one fella that was just really annoying and much less mature than everyone else. None of us really liked him but he roleplayed so well that we just kept inviting him out. Out of character, I wanted to hit him, but in game...this guy was the bees knees. Anyone have any good stories about that one guy or gal that you kept around despite your dislike of him for whatever reason?

No one in particular, but there were several who I gamed with just for the sake of gaming. Back when I first started gaming, I was a firm believer in "the more the merrier." Enough bad experiences have changed my mind about that. I just put up with the people then to have someone else ANYONE else game with us despite whether this was something suited for them or not.

Re: Annoying Players/GM Version 2
I've gamed with people who share the following annoying habit; they repeatedly quote something off-topic, like Monty-Python, or some anime or something.
Now, I like all of those things: Monty-Python, anime, and things, but I we have all heard, "you must bring me a shrubbery!" about a billion times, and now happen to hate that bit
What's extra-terrible is that they are stuck re-quoting the same bits every time someone new joins the group, or simply hit that repeat point after a time-period. It's like these couple of things are all the media they've ever experienced, and now are compelled to share it with everyone for eternity.

I know how you feel, most of the time it is like pulling teeth for me to get anyone to game with me.
I did have one character thatwould decide to goof off at inappropreate times; like the group would be getting all serious for a battle or something and he would make his character do something to another character or do something that could screw up the whole plan. Sometimes it was ok, and made things interesting but there were other times when I wanted to grab his character sheet and rip it into little tiny pieces
To GLORY! To VICTORY!! HUZZA!

I've done similar things; I lit his character sheet on fire!
