When a character draws PPE from outside sources, do they have to use it the same round or can they store it for some amount of time?
If so, how long can they hold it?

IIRC, it depends. If they are drawing off of a ley line, it has to be used right away (if they need more, they could always cast slowly enough to use just the PPE from a ley line, if they had the time). If they are getting it from volunteers/sacrifice/etc. then I think that they can hold it for a number of minutes equal to the PE score. Can someone verify this for me?

Gathered PPE can be held for ether PE melees or PE min. depending on which setting rules you are using as your standard.
If the mage is just channeling the power, the mage can channel something like 100 per PE per Melee. (see PF:MoM1 for details)

Hours was a misprint/misquote in an early rifter.
The Rifts Book of Magic actually mentions the misprint on page 21 under the Question about the limit of PPE a mage can absorb.
