Oh hey, page two. :D
You have no idea how excited I was when my thread hit page two lol...not so much because I thought it wouldn't, as that it seemed like it was REFUSING to add the second page. The first one just kept getting longer, and longer, and longer...

You too, man, you too. :D

No, Arka, we are NOT hanging Splugorth Minion heads from the tree. Take those down, now!
But it's a fine Shemarrian tradition!
Established, what, just this year?
It's still traditional!
Please take them down. I'm letting the Tribe use my house over the holiday, but that doesn't extend to stinking it up with Minion guts.
Awwwww.....
That MIGHT work if you were five years old and three feet tall...NOT when you're eight feet tall and wearing full battle armor.
Awwwwww.... :(
I don't recall writing in chibi-cyborgs...did I?
And if you did...? :)
I'm still not letting you post Minion heads on spikes...the neighbors will complain. Take them down and get rid of them.
Shucks.... :-(

And I think some of my 'verses soon-to-be Demon Huntresses would agree with Arka, Talisman. ;)
"Can't we at least hang them up around the city?"
-sigh- For the last time, you cannot hang demon skulls off of buildings, the city walls, OR mount them on pikes surrounding the city.

[Surf’s up!]
With battle behind them, and the unforgiving sea before them (along with a near catatonic Fionna) Thomas acted quickly to use his remaining psionic reserves to open the Wave-Serpent APC. As he did this, Uno Rez & Shalyndra detected numerous sources of movment in the jungle at the edge of the shoreline. As Uno tried to target the incoming potential threats a powerful ECM signal disrupted her targeting systems; tactical retreat was definitely in order as a dozen Shemarrian males started to encircle the clearing.
Fionna recoverd enough with some encouragemnet by Thomas and Archangel, and took control of the Wave-Serpent, pouring full power into its engines and rocketing away from the island. Strangely, the male Semarr did not open fire, despite having clear lines of sight (and also wearing the skull facepaint of the known hostile tribe of the Skullcrushers).

As Team alpha raced away from the cursed Silver Island, Thomas glanced at the sensors of the APC and saw that a massive build-up of energy, exotic particles and gravitic waves was occuring at the western end of the island; the location where the Skullcrushers had been excavating. Fionna feared that Dark-Force was about to enter the physical ‘verse, and when the turret camera was turned back to see what was happening, a hemipshere of grey nothingness was seen to expand over the island and surrounding sea. More speed was applied. Barely escaping the edge of the nothingness.

Breathing a sigh of relief temepred with dread at something coming out of the greyness, Team Alpha got a shock; the hemisphere collpased, revealing that the island and all the surrounding water for several kilometres had just vanished (Thomas and Uno recognizing that a ‘spacefold’ had occurred), air and sea rushed back to fill the void. The Wave-Serpent was kept stable by Fionna’s expert handling, but the rest of the team suffered minror brusing and undignified tossing about even with inertial damping fields. The APC barely kept ahead of the resulting tsunami, though fortunately when the interference created by Sister-Brain vanished along with the island, sattelite systems came back online so the coastal cities could be evacuated.
Team Alpha reached the north-western coast to find the town there empty of all life and holographic warning signs floating over the deserted streets. A passing coast-guard contra-grav heavy-lift flyer hovered over the Wave-Serpent and instructed Team Alpha to hold steady and be ready to stop engines for emergency grapple. Just in time; as the Heavy-lift flyer and grappled APC lifted upwards, a 500ft. wall of water crashed onto the abandoned town with the force of dozens of atomic bombs.

The coast-guard team of Lt. Strayke, Sgt. Praxae (Dark haired and blonde Adonis human males respectively) and the HuCAST male Remo made the aquaintance of Team Alpha as they disembakrked at Aiedo aerospace port. Praxae was smitten by Shalyndra and in clumsy anglic (english) offered to escort her and her companions to the local club. Lt. Strayke “enlightened” Praxe to the fact his translation gear was faulty and his anglic lessons really needed to be improved; Remo escorted Team Alpha while his two biological commrades worked out “their dominance issues”.

News broadcasts of the unnatural disaster played over and over on the video-screens, but Team Alpha and their new-found friends decided to put doom and gloom on the backburner and relax.
Sister-Brain and the Shemarrian Skullcrusher tribe incursion had been averted (though the ‘spacefold’ was NOT of Team Alpha’s doing), no fatalities from the tsunamis were reported and the group had survived relatively intact. To add to the near-celebratory air; 80% the native Motaivians had survived the mutagenic plague, though they had to undergo the ‘NuMan Protocol’; to stablize the mutation, the Motavian natives were transformed into human-like hybrids using the same process that had created the NuMan species many centuries previous. It was still too early to tell what social ramifications this would have.
Drinks and tales of glory were shared by the two teams. Archangel finaly got to kareoke. Sleep without bad dreams was achieved.

…and a single screen aboard the Sleipnir came to life.

The date is now April 17th. PA 109.

Yay, Sleipnir's back! Well...how much remains to be seen, BUT Techie can get re-acquainted with our mythically-inspired pal and see what technomancing mischief they can get up to. :D
And very very glad Techie could get that door open to avoid nastiness. *nodnod*

Conjures up a big pile of pillows for the party to land in at the exit of the wormhole.
Let them figure out how it got there.

No, Skinner did not put in a guest appearance.

Something much worse hitch-hiked along with two of the crew.
Details later. :D

P.S.; that hyper-gravitic activator? SO being sold off once they find a ship-yard that can remove it safely ;)

partial update only; the rest will follow later this week

[“… that can’t be good.”]
3 days went by as the members of Phoenix Force Alpha regathered their faculties, energy and drive. Just prior to leaving Motavia and the Algol system to reunite with their newly-married captain, most of the group went on a short jaunt to the Warphunter guildhall. There, much time was wasted trying to find information that was lost to antiquity, and Shalyndra became obsessed with a pair of throwing weapons on display that had once belonged to one of the guild’s founding members.
On departure, everyone decided that a quick jump through the system’s free-floating gravity well would be the best way to cut down on the weeks long travel between Corckscrew & Thundehead galaxies. A glitch in the navigation plot Uno-Rez had calculated (due to Sleipnir’s A.I. becoming “Emo” and Uno being required to fix the personality malfunction) resulted in the Sleipnir being catapulted somewhere unexpected when the hypergravitc coils activated.

Updated and expanded entry; everything now up-to-date for next session. :demon:

[“… that can’t be good.”]
3 days went by as the member of Phoenix Force Alpha regathered their faculties, energy and drive. The morning of the 20th had the group meet for breakfast very early down in the hotel lobby. There, they met with Hope Brightlance and Vansent Strayks of the Hunters Guild. Though still bleary, Team Alpha were in good spirits when the news that Fionna had been given full active Warp-Hunter status from the Algolian guild-hall, an dthat it seemed as if Hope and the reperesntative of the Guardian Hunters had “bonded”. Hope would be going back to Terra along with Strayks to her tribe of Shemarr, to bring gifts to ensure their survival (nano-tech repair systems and other trinkets that the Algolian HuCAST used as a matter of course), and further ties to possible allies in their civil war with their unenlightend sisters.

~10 days later~

Fionna woke up in a very elegantly appointed hospital. Beside her to her left, two of the regenerator tanks from the Sleipnir’s medical bay hooked into portable power systems. Inside the paired tanks were Shalyndra and Thomas; the regeneration fluid draining into reclamation & recycling units. To Fionna’s right was Garrus, his chest covered in bandages, and by the curving floor to ceiling window of their shared room, Uno-rez sat looking at her 4 biological companions. Uno’s right arm was missing from just above the elbow, and her hair was shorter (missing almost 24 inches). Uno welcomed everyone back to consciousness and saw to her paramour, Thomas, giving him and then Shalyndra bath robes as their tanks finished emptying.

Everyone was confused and disoriented, including Uno-Rez who stated she was missing nearly 8 days of memories. When one of the nurses arrived, she informed the group they had been found by a long-range CAF patrol boat responding to a request by Rika Hanlah-Falkon to search for their vessel (on authority of the Warp-Hunters guild and Lazlo interdimensional embassy), and brought back to Kalidor’s ‘Safe Haven Hospital’. The nurse further informed everyone there that all members had been found in varying states of physical trauma, Uno-Rez included, and that Shalyndra and Thomas were so badly injured, that removal and transfer of the regeneration tanks was required. Lastly, the group was informed their ship was; “quarantined but reports state that no sign of contamination was indicated, and that all infected material (the mirrors…all of them) has been gathered and sent sunward for terminal disposal.”

To help clear her head, Fionna entered the shower, after strongly requesting that everyone’s medical files be brought for perusal. Soon after the water began to rinse several days of fever sweat off of her body, Fionna noticed bite and finger marks all over her body, brought to light by the heat of the shower. Garrus went to her aid as the rest gathered close, finding strength in close contact. A nearly hysterical Fi was comforted by her partner, while Shalyndra, wanting to try and heal the bridge between her & the burster, tried to ease Fionna’s fears with a gentle hand on the back. This triggered a voice inside the elf-maids mind to intone “suggestive things” about what could be done with Fionna: Shalyndra leapt back as if scalded. The tension mounted and was not alleviated when the doctor in charge of Phoenix Alpha’s case brought the medical files::
Thomas Carmichael; Extensive shearing force trauma to torso, removal of ocular organs from orbital sockets via manual force. Stage 4 regen required for survival.

Shalyndra Baza-Khaine; Thermal, cryonic & directed energy damage to 83.77% of body, explosive removal of ocular organs from orbital sockets. Stage 4 regen required for survival.

Garrus Vakarian; Kinetic trauma to thoracic region resulting in fracture of 7 ribs. I.R.M.S.S. and I.V. nutrient treatments to facilitate healing of bone structure.

Fionna Faraday; Lacerations and dentition marks upon 41% of dermal surface. Evidence of sexual assault and intrusion is indicated in attached diagrams. 93% likelihood of psychological trauma requiring psychotherapy.

While the group dealt with this information, Rika arrived to take her crew with her from the hospital. Thomas pondered what had occurred and along with Fionna, going over the evidence they had managed to piece together, they theorized that the Sleipnir had not only been thrown off course when they dove into the free-floating gravity well… they had been sent through into a dimension that could only be described as ‘Hell’.
The Warp.

Fionna began to speak in an oddly inflected voice, naming four names of power. As her trance induced state intoned the final name and began to rise in volume, screaming “No more!” over and over again, both she and Shalyndra screamed in pain as “something” tore loose from them invisibly and blasted the windows outwards. Having seen enough, Rika bulled through the hospital administrators and teleported the entire team to her & Markus’s suite. There, she set about laying out ‘spirit shield’ devices to keep whatever had torn free from Fi & Shaly from being able to retake them.

Two members of Phoenix Force Alpha have been marked. One of the ruinous powers has been named and has been revealed to be now cognizant of and present in the Tri-Gal dimension.

The date is May 1st, PA 109.

Due to events beyond the GM's control; The saga continues will not be seen this week as the session had to be cancelled. Also, the coming week's session may be kaiboshed as well. Stay tuned.

I'm HOPING(in somewhat perverse fashion) that this is because of heavy snow/winter weather, and not something else. It's certainly been the season for it(seven foot drifts, narrowed roads, TOTAL WHITEOUT).

And we're glad to have him. ;)
And a PA pilot, huh? Sounds like another tech-user for Tech to buddy up with. :D Its' a pretty mutual thing, y'know, he helps equip you, you help keep him from getting shot, its' win-win.
[Okay yes, he generally has a PA of his own, but shhhh. :P ;)]

Ah yes...it's like what they say about the CS Mrk V APC....it's like a candy box for a dragon; once it gets the lid off there are so many choices. And dragons hate it when they inevitably pick the ones with the fruit fillings or the sticky nougat inside them. :P

SERIOUSLY hoping that things run smoothly this coming session.
As already stated I'm gonna hold up on doing the update until I have a bit more material. Not that last session wasn't good, just that it was very very very talk heavy, and in game-time terms, only about 3 hours were actualy "active".

At least the new PC was intro'd and assisted in half convincing Phoenix-Force Alpha into at least negotiating contracts with their OBVIOUSLY spoiled-rich potential patron.

We shall see where this all leads :demon:

A glimmer of an illusion of hope, thinner than the broth made from the shadow of a pigeon that has been starved to death, to paraphrase a great American leader.
Yah, let them hope for a moment, a while, before crushing them as they flee before you(to paraphrase a great Cimmerian leader).
