Compiling Weapons Rules

Unread post by Gazirra »

I've been running Palladium games for almost a decade now, and I've finally decided to compile my own weapons rules for modern games. I'm going to try to look for rules for making, modifying, and designing modern weapons (including energy weapons) in various books to try to make a universal system.
I'm wondering if anyone has already done this, or at least has a start, I'd like to maybe get a hint on where to start and considerations I must keep in mind.
I'd also be appreciative if anyone can point out modern weapon stats online that aren't in any current books.

Modern weapons for what game? Are we talking about rules for Glock 9's and Colt .45s or Laser pistols and Boom guns?
Getting a mage to tell you where the hydra is...10,000 gold
Hiring a summoner... 40,000 gold
Hiring one hundred 10th level mercenaries... 98,567 gold
Giving a hydra skull to your necromancer... priceless

Modern games, like HU2 and maybe ATB-ish, Dead Reign, etc. SDC games only, for this list :)

Ok, then I've got nothin' I'm sure I could whip some up some day, but most my games are either High Tech or Fantasy, leaving a blank middle point between them.

Greetings and Salutations. Good to see you again, Gazirra. Anyways, pleasantries aside, I'll do my best to help you in your question. First, if you haven't found this on your own yet, the first place to come to mind for making, modifying, and creating modern weapons is in HU2, under the Weapons Expert class on page 132. It mentions Modern Weapons before it mentions Ancient Weapons (in case you miss it).

I'm not sure if these are real guns or not (I'm no weapon expert), but these are at least modern in design/write-up (I think). There may be some elsewhere, but it could at least give a good start. Actually, if you ask in a thread over there (the Nexus Nine), I'm sure someone can probably give you a better list of what's available.

Okay, that should cover things for now. Hopefully some of that helped. Thank you for your time and patience, please have a nice day. Farewell and safe journeys for now.
