I Know, I Know alot of people dont like to use themselves, because they want to roleplay someone else. Yawn...ok No need to say it.

ALRIGHTY then ...

Lets see what would happen, if Random Rolled your Nightbane Morphus, ok ?
I Know (myself included), alot of people would rather pick their features. We will do that later.
Lets List which Books your Using and Which Tables your using too.

OK. Random is out of the Way. Now lets pick your Features for your Morphus.
Is it based on a Picture found somewhere, a Theme, what ?

Thats is it ? Ok, not bad. Its simple but very playable.

New Nightbane Characteristic Table = "98" TWO !! (ahhh)

Uh, isn't a Morphus supposed to represent your inner self in some way? Ergo, wouldn't it not be at all random?

So if I woke up one day to discover that I had undergone the Becoming, it would probably be a particular set.

Not be Random ?? Just Look at Pictures in the books for Nightbane. Most seem pretty random to be and not "picked".

You proberly should do one Random for this Styled of game though.
Half the Fun is seeing How or Why you got a certain Characteristic. I know I would wonder why I become (in my last Random roll) an Energy Being with Armor and a Sword. Trying to figure that out about yourself would an Interesting Role-Playing experience indeed.

Example...
Sword. Might be easy, i luv knives, swords, etc...specially ones with religous symbols or meaning about them.
Armor. I must feel I need protecting from the world. I can see that.
Energy Being. Must have Watched too much Red Dwarf 20 years ago and liked the Hologram aspect more than I thought. Or could be I liked Energy Beings from Comic Books, such as Living Laser, Klaw (sound guy), and the Like.
MIX them together...see the Picture for an Example.

Then I would have to Ask myself. Why is the Armor so Dark and Forboding ? I always like stuff like than in comics, etc... So it would fit into my own "Inner-Self".

if you can find a Picture that matches the Random Roll results and you like it, post is a possible look for it.

Could be Worse. Much Worse. I'd be happy with a Ken NB once I see how freaky other NB can get.

One of my Players Random Rolled awhile back. Only NB Characteristic he got was a Third Eye. He liked the result. He like DBZ and the guy with 3 eyes. Its how he rationalized it to himself.

Random Characteristic - Disporportionate - Small Teeth

Um . . . I have no idea how that would work out. I guess, even though my conscious mind see's me as a dark anti-social fellow on the inside there is a happy pure out-going person [with small teeth?]

I guess that if I had to design my Nightbane self I would probably have a stigmata with my intestines coming out [I had part of my intestines cut out two years ago, tramatic much]. Probably something to do with computers [I like to say I think in code]. And maybe something RPG related probably fantasy since I would already have a computer part my Rifts Fanatic has to have some Fantasy elements

I like the Random Roll one. The small (baby) teeth is weird though.

Mix Match. Random Roll and Chose.
Keep the Animal Magnetism and Inner Light and chose the New Nightbane Characteristic Table and Feature for it. Fantasy ? LOL, Nobility ??

That is Why I always have Players Random roll 3 to 5 Morphus forms for Me, Myself, & I NB games. That way you can pick the Most "You" easier. If that fails. Select a Picture and I'll help them build a Nightbane based on.

This one I actually tried to force with acquatic, being that I am deathly allergic to both fish and shellfish, trying to go with a "if it's deadly to me, I'll make it deadly to my enemies" stchik, and low and behold, I get the one table for acquatic animals I am not allergic to, go figure.

Ok, this one takes some doing, but, I was disillusioned to the church at a very young age, I have a skin condition that already causes bloody ooze in hair folicles, I have always had a problem with eating, and I have always felt a connection to computers.

I like the Dolphin/Whale one though. That would be interesting to see. Specially if it forced him to eat Fish while in Morphus form. Which is nolonger alleric to of course in morphus form only.

Made up another.
Nightbane with Physical Perfection, Hulking Monster, Odd Skin color, and glowing eyes.
Found a picture that fit it perfectly.

Overall, not a game-breaking character. Fascade form's PS is only 12, with a PS 30 in morphus.

The dolphin and cetacean NB feature tables have already been publish in the (early) rifters.

I was making another Nightbane for a possible upcoming game and rolled something interesting, I thought anyways.

I used NB-SG tables.
Rolled a 00 for Living Myth. At first i was again, i did one of those already, then remmebered it turned out cool before. FANTASY, EXTRATERRESSESTIAL and ANGELIC or INFERNAL tables. Angelic of course, better stuff there.

FANTASY = and "88" OGRE Warrior with a magicial Weapon. Ok I actually love this feature.

EXTRATERRESSESTIAL = and "21" B-Movie Alien. OK...I'll go with the Hulking Savage type.
ANGELIC = and "58" HEROIC Proportions. Thanks gawd. I'm actually happy i rolled this one. it simple and cool.

All in all, not bad. Not bad at all.
The B-Movie Alien is the hardest to make hit though. But its workable.

I first thought of these two pictures when i rolled this up ... What dp you guys think ?
I can just say "rubberish Skin" for the B-Movie Alien effect.

It's supposed to be your inner self... your fears, dreams, nightmares, and obsessions. There is something about picking your traits through your character's personality in the Nightbane Survival Guide.

Yeah i know.
But i also like the random roll aspect, and trying to figure out WHY those features might have came up for me.

If you just "PicK" features, it feels like cheating usually.
I'm complex i admit, i would love to have too many of the features and fear having others features. It would be hard for me to say 100% these are what i would 100% have.

Best to just Random Roll and see how they connect to your own psyche...

Better yet, go classic B-Movie TV series style and make the skin looked painted with cheap make-up. :mrgreen:

Great Voice, and extra Hot than normal. My PB/MA will be raised to 20 at least.

Now to find a good Alien Babe Picture or make one in Photoshop. LOL.

How many of you guys would Play this result out ? Specially if your Male in Real Life, cause this is a Me, Myself, and I post.

05% Unearthly Beauty - Doll-Like Appearance
98% Aquatic (Fish) - Piranha Jaws (and nature)
03% Nightbane Characteristics - Geo-Creature
89% Mineral Table I - Horns, spines or spikes

I'm only 140lb at 5'5" so I'm pretty small, doll-like works as I've always been the smallest and am somewhat fragile; I was a premature birth and the old immune system never quite caught up. I love meat and have joked about wishing I was fat just so I could eat more of it, also when I was a teenager I used to wish I could sharpen my teeth like a predatory animal. When I was younger, and to a much lesser extent now, I kept people at arms length for fear of being hurt or hurting them, large metal protrusions from my spine are a good emotional barrier made physical.
I like to imagine the large piranha mouth akin to Elmo or a Canadian from South Park, so large it's almost on a hinge. When he laughs or eats the top of his head tilts back to an unnatural angle to accommodate the huge rows of teeth.

Bored decided to random roll a NB for fun for myself

"18" Dimensional Traveler !!
Selecting 1d4 Rolls on the New Nightbane Characteristics table (2).
"76" Fantasy = "81" Ogre with Magical Weapon. (ok)
"06" Divine = "52" Heroic Proportions (yes, goes perfect with Ogre).
-- Not bad, not bad, simple, a good. I love "Ogre" or "Troll" type of characters in Novels, RPGs, etc. So its I can see myself poping this up. The Heroic Proportions, is gravy to me. I always wanted to be more buff and fit looking, like that. So this would be one of those wish fulliment things for me hands down, my wanting to be Bigger and more muscled looking. --
-- Now I wonder what I would get If I Rolled the last two. I only rolled 2 features, but it would be fun to see what else i might have gotten, who know it might fit perfectly in the concept so far --
"40" Bio-mechanical = Bio-Mech Table 1 = "10" Armor Graft. (ohh, another good one, piecemeal armor. Would save me having to find cloths, etc...)
"46" Alien Shape = "77" Odd Skin Color. (ugg, its OK, but makes the ogre really stand out. Its doable though.)

All In All, a great roll overall. Characteristics I would like to have actually. Both version, the "2" or the "4" features would be great. I could see me using either all the time too. Well if i did not have the odd skin color, i would be 24/7 in that form LOL, heck, just remembered the Ogre gives you funny cloths right out of conan era, so heck throw on some color, who cares. LOL
